Heyo Shannah !
I just realized that your someone from the facebook editing community, fufufu-- so so how are you? (you might no remember me but i asked for a dA icon commission from you before)
Hi Shannah67! After reading your Kill la Kill review I have some worth hearing advice on improving your future reviews.
Firstly, please have a good read of the MAL review Guidelines here: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=575725
The guidelines which you have probably read somewhat, since you are following the review structure of 'Story, Art, Sound, Character and Enjoyment' already hold plenty of worth reading information. Specifically on the do/don'ts of reviewing here.
Your review seems like you did put alot of effort into it which is really good to see, though two main issues it has is that your review is quite subjective at times, meaning you are writing very personally. The best way to go about reviewing more objectively is; try your best to keep your own opinion out of the review, without a bias stand point,
For example:
Subjective extract of your review:
"because I actually feel that they're taking time for everything to slowly unfold, leaving the viewers into a cliffhanger and/or suspense."
Objective example:
"The story takes its time to unfold, this leaves the viewer with exciting cliffhangers and/or a strong sense of suspense."
As you can see, I changed the way your extract was worded and there we go, a more objective statement. Don't get me wrong subjectivity isn't a bad thing, but it is against the review guidelines.
Extract from the review guidelines:
"Reviews MUST:
be presented as fairly and objectively as possible"
Lastly, as it is a major rule of review guidelines, it is actually against the rules to write a review for any airing series which is not up to a selected episode.
Exract from the review guidelines:
"Review text should not be submitted until the:
4th episode has been viewed for TV series one cours (~13 eps) in length;
6th episode has been viewed for TV series two cours (~26 eps) in length;
10th episode has been viewed for TV series four cours (~52 eps) or longer in length.
OVA and Manga reviews will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis while taking the time between subsequent releases/chapters and total expected length into account."
As you can see, series with ~13 episodes must wait till the 4th episode has aired to be reviewed, that is most likely why your current review has a handful of down likes.
That being said, i hope this feed back helps when reviewing in future! Good luck!
