Having recieved the following "Club messaging has been disabled for now. This will likely return in the future." every time I try to message all club members. And after spending about an hour trying to find out if they even have an ETA on the return, I decided I have to do this the old fashioned way.
Time to nominate your favorite anime!
Rules are simple, nominate a single anime or second one that someone else has nominated.
You may nominate something you have nominated before, but not a previous winner.
Any finished anime series, movie, or finished OAV is eligible. Any anime series currently airing is not.
Please include a url link to the anime that you are nominating as occasionally the name is repeated, but the series are completely different (i.e. Macross).
This thread will remain open until 3 June 2012 and is located here.

Hi. Mass messaging still isn't working on MAL so I'm sending this call for nominees for club relations by hand. Check out the thread here: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=290744
Hey! We need more women to play in the "Boys vs Girls" game. It's something I concocted to get a bit of traffic to our Anime Alley club here on MAL.... http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=272776
I sort of do. I yearn for that sort of intensity, so when I find it I gobble it up, but once that moment has passed I have to slow down. I can get rather overwhelmed, particularly when it's a combination of intensity from a series and my own connection to a character or something.
After reading a volume of NANA, I feel completely drained and emotionally rung out and I have to do something else for awhile to feel real again. The same thing happened after watching Now and Then, Here and There and Grave of the Fireflies.
More than anything, I like to be emotionally invested in an anime, even if it isn't necessarily impactful itself. If I'm not, I just can't work up much excitement even if it is a good series otherwise.
Hey there! I'm doing pretty good. Not up to much at all right now. Hope things are going fine for you.
As for Mouryou no Hako: don't ask me to give you exact details of it. I watched the first half of the series a couple of years ago and watched the second half earlier this summer. I did enjoy it. It challenges you to pay attention and do a bit of thinking to unravel the mystery. I didn't find the 13th episode on usenet so I've watched it on R2 DVD...which means there's a fair bit of stuff I've missed. Anyways, for a bit of information about the series of novels the story is taken from check out this: http://www.iwanihana.info/2009/09/13/books-the-hyakkiyagyou-series/
That was taken in the rose garden at Descanso Gardens in the Pasadena area. They have a lot of really beautiful gardens there.
NANA is amazing...I get choked up just thinking about it sometimes. It's very impactful emotionally, at least for me. The characters are so incredibly flawed, but in such believable ways that it makes it very real.
Work is good, as is the wife. I definitely am going to be in Maryland Otakon weekend, thing is I might be coming back up to Philly to pick her up on Friday. That isn't exactly a guarantee though, but if she does I'm hoping the four of us could meet up or something.
I've been playing NHL 10 like crazy. Looking forward to when NHL 11 comes out.
