How my rating system (theoretically) works:
10 - Phenomenal. Excels and delights in every way. Shines far above everything else.
9 - Great. Not too close to phenomenal, but much more enjoyable than "very good"
8 - Very good. I enjoyed it thoroughly and would recommend it.
7 - Good. It was enjoyable to me, but I can easily understand why someone might not like it.
6 - Average/Alright. I probably watched it to kill time. It wasn't all that enjoyable but I didn't want to judge it too harshly because I recognize its merits.
5 - Not terrible (possibly bad though), but I definitely would not recommend.
4 or below - rofl how does anime get this bad? (varying degrees of terrible)
It should be noted that I do not rate things objectively based on their merits or anything like that. My rating is based on how much I enjoyed the series. If you want to know how -good- I think a series actually is as a work of art or literature, then you'll have to talk to me about it. I suppose I will say that I think I generally enjoy anime that I see as good, and I see most of the anime I thoroughly enjoy as good.
