Haven't been watching anime for all that long. In fact, I only started somewhere around Feb/Mar of last year. Anime and Manga to me are both awesome time passers (Does such a phrase exist?). I usually watch/read when I'm bored or have nothing else to do. And I'll tell you, that is MOST of the time, lol. My favorite genres? I'd have to say romance, drama, comedy, echhi, and slice of life. Of course, the occasional action and suspense is entertaining as well :). As for genres I dislike, I'd have to say Yaoi and Incest. Something about them just makes me cringe :/. I dislike the idea of dropping an anime series that I've already began to watch. That being said, my motto with both anime and manga is "finish what you've started". Once I begin a certain series, I'll see it through till the end. Regardless of whether I like it or not (unless of course the series is absolutely terrible and painful to watch).
Anime interests aside, I enjoy learning about how things work. I'm also interested in tech and I try to keep track of all the new gadgets and whatnot that come out. I guess you could say that I'm somewhat tech savvy. I live in the island of GUAM.

Any shows that you're really excited about this season? I'm watching several but the one I'm enjoying most is Chihayafuru.
If I got a nickel for every time this is posted...
Probably because it gets so much love, too. People tend to go to extremes, and that's not just an anime thing.
Concludes it all. You're not special. Anime is one out of X hobbies, and every hobby has their opposing opinions. Live with it.
Ignore this ^
I think he's suffering from ESI which is ironic considering his message for you.
Anime is still a fringe hobby that's mostly associated with the socially awkward. As a result, anime fans make easier targets for those who wish to humor themselves or their friends at another's expense. Unfortunately this means fewer people will explore their interest in anime because of the stigma associated with it. However I do believe that it will become more popular and accepted as people become exposed to it through internet and television.
And corny isn't bad. ;D it makes you feel all warm inside, and slightly embarassed. But it also makes you wish you had someone to love, too. Which can be sort of depressing at times. :c
