I know this has been a while from your post but I must really thank you for that anime though. It really was amazing and thought provoking as well. At first I really started to hate Kusaka (the guy he rescued) but then i really began to appreciate the realness of it. If I had been him and had access to future knowledge, I would have done the same thing.

I also really thought it was wrong of Kadamatsu to rescue him in the first place. Well not so much that but then forgetting that he had affected history and stubbornly clinging to the belief that it was right of him wanting to go back to his era. If you are gonna do something, you shouldn't look back.

I really liked it, but I wish he could have met his dad though and for some reason I think they will go back to their time. Though the way I think it's going to happen is that Kusaka advances the civilizations far and fast enough to build a time machine that can choose proper time line. The reason why I believe so is because of the first scene of the anime where I think Kadomatsu's dad seems to know a bit more than what he lets on. Not to mention that they say he was looking for something. Maybe the people who rescue him? IDK, all I do know is that I really enjoyed it.
