Yeah the lack of music in the movie was something i reacted to aswell. i really loved the made in abyss opening and i know it would have been difficult to have it in the actual movie since its not a proper soundtrack but i still missed it. And the big one they left out was the score "underground river". Just using it as the credit music didnt make it justice. I still remember the first ep in the anime where they carried Reg to the orphanage while that song played.

Hi i just read your review on the first made in abyss movie and i completely agree with your thoughts. It felt like a lot of moments were cut out and im pretty sad about that. But i went in watching it as more of a "reminder" to myself about things i had seen before in the anime and it made it more alright. Still wish the movie had kept a slower pace at some points tho.
