I don't really understand it bro 😂 I looked at shows we both watched and most of them have close scores but the affinity is still so low. Oregairu might be the main reason for that but it still seems strange to me since we gave most shows similar scores
Thank you for your polite comment. I'd probably see Arc 3 in a similar light if I didn't lose my suspension of disbelief then, it was definitely taking a stronger approach. Being anime-only likely has an effect on my perspective too (I really ought to find the time to try out manga/LNs some day).
Arc 1 & 2 did have their issues, but I noticed a slow & subtle shift with Subaru at that point in the story, so where you saw a start I saw a restart, which irked me greatly. As for dealing with his traumatic experiences, I don't see why he couldn't have framed them as disturbingly vivid dreams to his confidantes. That said, my issue wasn't so much with him having a breakdown (ep 13) but rather the setup which led to it (mostly ep 12) which put the breakdown and events caused by it in a different light. I heard quite a bit of dialogue for episode 12 was changed in the anime. Perhaps a more reasonable chain of events exists in the source but I wouldn't excuse the anime for its portrayal in that case.
I've also heard that Emilia gets her due focus in Arc 4, but I don't find it unreasonable to have expected more of her in season 1 considering her importance to the overall story. After some consideration, I did decide to hold off on continuing Re:Zero for the foreseeable future, as there are many other stories I want to give a chance to as well. Don't take my review as some sort of absolute. You are well aware that there are good reasons to like Re:Zero, just perhaps not as many for someone with a similar lens as me.
