Two whole years of pictures of catgirls, foxgirls, bunnygirls, doggirls, and other assorted mimis!
A new picture every day!
Well aren't you a curious one. Move along now
About me:
I'm a calm, optimistic person, trying to see a silver lining in every cloud. I tend to go along well with most people because of that, and I hope you who is reading this is no exception ^^ I am a thinker, so I tend to follow a good train of thoughts for a few hours. I am very curious, wanting to know as much as I can about whatever I find interesting. I am shy with people I don’t know well, but friends get to see a more extroverted side of me. I am quite honest, maybe more than what I should be. Sometimes I can be a bit rude or otherwise cause negative feelings, but please believe me when I say it is unintentional.
Anime-wise, I am quite new to the picture. I have watched anime for many years, but I never actually realized it. To me, they were just another form of cartoons. Ever since I joined MAL, however, I have come to learn a bit of anime otakudom and Japan. Indeed, with this newfound knowledge I have doubled the amount of series seen in a single year, and hope to keep up the pace. Of particular note is that I discovered kemonomimi characters, which I became fond of long ago yet also knew nothing about. My passion for girls with cute animal ears increased after coming across the Kemonomimi Shoujo club and its associated picture of the day site. Be sure to check them out if you're a mimi fan!

Past:
A real-life photograph of the Earth as seen from Mars, just before sunrise, taken by the Mars Exploration Rover - A, more commonly know as Spirit in 2004, on it's 63rd martian day, or sol (It's still active today, accumulating more than 1500 sols on martian soil, impressively more than the expected 90 sols). Amazing isn't it? Quoting Carl Sagan (although this particular quote was about a more famous photo): "Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every "superstar", every "supreme leader", every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there". Heh, that couldn't have been said better ^^
Another picture of Earth, this time taken from a shuttle in low orbit. As can be seen, the sun has risen not long before the picture was taken, making it's reflection on the ocean look particularly yellow due to intense Rayleigh scattering. A similar version can be found here. In fact, check out the archive while you're there, you won't regret it =)
A picture of an astronaut during an untethered EVA. It is still a rather dangerous action, but can produce some inspiring pictures such as that one. In it, one can see the Earth from far up enough to discern its curvature. Also, the atmosphere can be seen clearly near the horizon as a thin blue blanket. The background is completely black, not because there are no stars in that direction, but because they are so faint that the sunlight reflected by the Earth easily outshines and masks them, much like how the Sun outshines the stars in daytime, even though they're still out there. 2009 is the International Year of Astronomy, and I thought I could pay a solitary homage to that by continuing to share pictures of the Earth ^^
0_o Thank you very much for all of this information. I really appreciate it. I'm sorry for any trouble I put you through.
I must have asked a very long time ago, as I only vaguely remember a quest for the information. I hope I wasn't rude or a bother with my original inquiry.
I am very happy to have this question put to rest. Thank you again.
Are you a poet or an English major or something? Haha! What you wrote was great!! :D
Thanks for all that advice! I'm sorry to disappoint you but I already AM enthralling myself with the beauty of the universe and my curiousity is burning all the time and I sort of understand everything about the circle of life and the way of the world because I believe in God :)
Studying? I never do that. :P I am reading as much as I can before university starts again but my mother hates it when I read! She always calls me and asks me really stupid questions just when I've sat down with my book.
^_^ Burn out isn't good because then I'll just watch anime ^_^
