-I'm planning to rewatch one of my favourite movie which i find as the most profound and prophetic movie "Network 1976", Will also probably watch some movies like Wanda, the wicker man, Rewatch The contact, Source code and Copycat etc. Btw have u watched it?

-Same man Same I also got fatigue of consuming any piece of work that's why i just stick to yt for some dumb entertainment and philosophical enlightenment by watch "Max Derrat's" yt channel. He makes some really cool videos about video games, movies (Literally any piece of media) and the philosophical undertone behind those pieces of work. I love Hero, it was awesome in fact there are many awesome chinese movies out there, My personal favourite would be In the mood of love and Kung fu Hustle (absolutely hilarious and Goated movie)

But I heard David Lynch died the other day so maybe I was thinking of watching some of the movies I haven’t seen by him yet like Eraserhead, Wild at Heart, Lost Highway etc. I was wondering if you had ever seen any of those? (and if so, which one would you recommend).

If i got to recommend from his catalogue i probably recommend u a short movie called "Early Experiments" it has a really haunting visuals and dark atmosphere, truly captures the essense of 70s and 80s Lynch movies and also try "Inland empire" cause it was absolutely great, I would always recommend it over Eraserhead, and lost Highway (Hot take: But i was utterly disappointed by both Eraserhead and Lost Highway)

I'd say Brisbane is pretty nice, I've been to Canberra and Sydney and I'd say I prefer brisbane over both of those. I still need to visit a lot of the other cities though like Melbourne, Adelaide, Darwin, Hobart and Perth.

Have you always been in perth? or did you visit some other cities in Australia as well? Besides Perth being pretty far away I don't know much else about it lol

And yeah, I'm a dual citizen of the US/AU, had various periods of my life split between the two although the most recent one was last year I was living and travelling in the US with my [ex]fiance and only came back to Australia two months ago.

Was a very emotionally and physically abusive relationship though with a lot of lies, cheating and overall not with a stable or healthy person and we broke up on new years day and I'm still getting over it and there's a high chance I'm never going to be returning to the US again since I really dislike it there.

I much rather travel around Australia more or other countries ^^

Texhnolyze 1st episode is the subbers dream, no words or barely any words in the first 10 minutes or so, plus I think its a lot easier to understand and relate to. I don't think you're missing out on anything if you don't watch Ergo Proxy but skipping Texnolyze is a big missed opportunity, it really is a very ambitious series and I think I'll like it even more on a rewatch now that my brain is more developed lol

My tier list would be:
1) Lain
2) Texnolyze
3) Ergo

Unfortunately getting into Slam Dunk is a nightmare. You can't find it even on legit sights anymore, its not on youtube either, even the manga can be hard to collect. Whatever way you get into Slam Dunk, it's all valid because you enjoy it and can financially support it after. I started buying the manga and financially supporting the series after I watched the anime

Yes 100% Slam Dunk refrences real life NBA, they even speak about Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, before Slam Dunk, I literally had no idea who he was.

Shohoku is most likely based off the Chicago Bulls
Rukuwa is most likely based off of Michael Jordan

Also, if you choose the anime route (awesome choice, the manga is obviously better, but the anime has a devoted following because of its nostalgic vibe, the anime does everything episode 27 did MUCHHHH better. I balled my eyes out crying, many times, I just dont get the same feeling reading the manga) bruh i forgot i was doing a bracket lmao, but if you choose the anime route, then after episode 96, for some reason the anime goes the 'anime original route' and suddenly changes from the manga and then just ends in the middle of an arc

You'd have to start reading from Volume 23 till volume 31. But worry not, because the manga is VERY fast to read, and thats coming from someone that hates reading books and is very slow at it...

but slam dunk is an exception, its one of the only manga i actually like to read, so dont be put off by that

ofc you could just start from the manga so that you wont have to change mediums but i feel like you'll miss out on the charm of the anime

How's Perth? I'm on the complete opposite side in Brisbane lol

I have pretty much decided to shift my focus on Slam Dunk content since I am so passionate about the series even as someone who has no interest in basketball.
People only talk about the basketball aspect but I wanna talk about other aspects which are the reason why I fell in love with the series, though yes the way the auhtor draws basketball is amazing even to me who dosent find basketball interesting irl

The characters. Thats why I love Slam Dunk. And the fights, the delinquent genre is one of my favorite, the music, art, its the only 10/10 manga i have on MAL, 8/10 anime cos pacing issues

I usually move on from most shows, but Slam Dunk has lived rent free in my head for 2 years

Episode 27. Episode 27. You need to experience episode 27. That should be your motivation to start watching, to reach episode 27 and change your life

Since you like NGE, Slam Dunk has the same 90's aesthetic, its really worth the shot, you're gonna really be surprised

Those early Naruto videos, well, I took them down cos I thought they kinda sucked lol, But I still have my Madara Uchiha and Gaara video up, ones that im really proud of.

That Ennies Lobby spoiler is hardly much tbh, literally SO much happens in that arc, you might as well not even consider it a spoiler since that iconic scene you;re talking about only hits deep once you know the full context and all the back stories etc.

I know I said my main focus was Slam Dunk but I'm down for the odd video here and there about another series like Nana, One Piece, Naruto etc. So yes, good idea hahah, I'd have to rewatch it to refresh my brain

Ahh... Ergo Proxy. I just prefer Lain and Texnolyze tbh, I do really like one scene from Ergo Proxy, that epic transformation scene if you know what im talking about

Ergo proxy is alright, I would watch it again

Christmas woes? Been there, and still trying to survive that. Boxing Day test? Ah, I say the only test worth watching is the Melbourne test, and you managed to miss it all but the last day. At least it was a win, I thought it was gonna be another draw! The Scorchers' overseas players not batting? Maybe they need more than 8 teams to play in big bash. .
8 teams is very boring, 4 of them are from Melbourne and Sydney. it's a huge challenge to survive with just 8 teams. ..
They should have a professional sports here.

Josh Diddy’s triple double? wasn’t he padding stats—just like LeBron, the king of the stat pads. Karl Malone’s record? I think leboy will soon get that.
But I know jokic is gonna end up retiring with most triple double.

D Rose hologram in the lineup? Honestly, at this point, I'd take a cardboard cutout.
And don’t get me started on the Celtics. Their strategy lately seems to be ‘lose with style’. You should see the Jays smoking layups because they wanna spin it in with style instead of a simple finish..

New season of Link Click? Binging after it finishes airing? A solid plan, though I don't think the light and fluffy like Bunny Girl Senpai S2 and Dress Up Doll S2 are similar, bunny girl is quite scary with so many supernatural events.
I'm right there with you, light stuff is where I'm at emotionally.. No more scary and realistic rollercoasters, please. 🚫

Anime? Revolutionary Girl Utena? An absolute classic! Though not getting caught up in Freiren fever? you’re missing out on a cultural or MAL phenomenon...
I haven't seen dungeon meshi and it's equally another phenomenal anime according to most people I know.

So, my suggestion? They are very different to your taste, I'm into CGDCT and laid back slice of life now.
I think those themes have become my comfort zone.
