Welcome to my comprehensible anime list where each anime is rated based off of the story, characters, plot, art and original soundtrack. While each of these factors plays a big part into the score of the overall anime, the most important thing for an anime to posses, in my opinion, is information. I rate relatively based on what life lessons/information can provide or give, this is typically because the amount that exists determines how a receive the show, simply because of its relatability or the ability to reflect on the series' contents.
How does this help you? Everything comes into play when watching a show. To enjoy something to it's utmost you would have to have the perfect conditions such as good lighting, comfortable clothes, warm room, etc. By directing you to anime judged by the amount of life 'advice', you can wager which shows are less or more serious in order to maximize your enjoyment of a series. For example, while a show like 'Non-Non-Biyori' or even 'Gabriel Drop Out', might have Kawaii characters and a chilled/funny atmosphere, no fine line is drawn to tell you whether or not it has an underlining meaning to it. If you are looking to dive deep into mechanics 'Kobayashi's no maid dragon' or 'Interview with monster girls' while having similar elements, really expand on relations between individuals. Kobayashi's DM especially breaking every barrier and having extremely deep lessons I'm almost certain not a lot of people paid attention to.
That being said here is an extremely basic spectrum:
(Note: all animes have more than 1 genre which will influence their final score)
Action: 1-5: low-mid action based, no real plot / little to no action
Action: 6-10: highly action based, good-great plot
Romance: 1-5: low-mid romantic (drama), no real plot / no progress
Romance: 6-10: highly romantic (drama), good-great plot / some progess
Ecchi: 1-5: low-mid fan service, no real plot/ high censorship, undetailed bodies
Ecchi: 6-10: high fan service, tons of plot ;) / little-no censorship, detailed bodies
Drama: 1-5: low-mid plot devices, no-weak overall objective
Drama: 6-10: high use of drama plot devices, overall objective present
Sci-Fi: 1-5: low-mid plot, presence of plot holes, no-weak overall objective
Sci-Fi: 6-10: highly informative plot, little-no plot holes, overall objective present or even mystery.
Slice of Life: 1-5: No life lessons, basic day in-day out, low-mid comedy
Slice of Life: 6-10: Prevalent life lessons, interesting day in-day out, mid-high comedy
Comedy: This breaks the overall trend, shows with comedy have a tendency to not have any underlining lesson and simply service as an enjoyable piece of media. Shows like that I typically write an edit saying that the rating was a comedy wise rating.
