Haha I'm pretty much a horror junkie, so even though the plot is stupid, I'm still compelled to read it XD
I know one of the more recent horror anime is Another. I don't think I saw it on your list?
I watched it as it was airing...And I actually liked it - I thought the ending was just a bit weird.
And as for list customization, you can do it two different ways.
The first (and the easiest) is to go to Edit Profile - My List Style - and Edit My Style. From there, you can fill in CSS properties, like font color, list borders, list opacity, etc. In order to get a picture as a background, you go to My List Style - Upload Wallpaper.
You don't have to write any coding for this way of list customization. If you are just starting out, this is a good way to get a feel for CSS design.
The second way is more involving, but this is the way to create more advanced list designs. You can try this by going to Edit My Profile - My List Style - Advanced Style CSS Editor. If it asks you to create a new style, click ok. You'll get just a blank text box. This is where you will enter CSS coding.
There is a club on MAL that is really good at explaining CSS. It even includes premade list CSS that you can copy and paste into the box - http://myanimelist.net/clubs.php?cid=19736
Hmm...Probably not. I'm kind of on the fence I suppose, but leaning heavily toward just not watching it...
You see, I really like the horror genre, not just in anime...But I'm a huge fan of horror movies and the like as well. So, naturally, this initially caught my eye. One of my favorite themes in the horror genre is survival...I especially love stories where a strange disease infects the world (a la Contagion, 28 Days Later, Walking Dead, I Am Legend, etc.). They are not original by any means - but for some reason they just spark my interest.
So, taking that into consideration, a zombie anime seemed pretty cool. But I don't think I would like it...It just seems like the fanservice dominates the whole show, making it nearly pornographic...(and I do watch ecchi...I mean come on, I like Rosario+Vampire...). But HotD is simply too much for me.
I am, however, planning on watching Kore wa Zombie desu ka and Sankarea. But even those aren't survival zombie horror. Only HotD is. Which is a shame, really. Take out the ridiculously gratuitous fanservice, and I would most likely love it.
Since the series did spark my interest...And, like I stated before, I just love horror stories...I researched about the HotD manga. I read that it isn't nearly as fanservice-based as the anime.
I picked up the first four volumes. I've only read the first one so far, and it was actually pretty good. So I guess that worked out.
I can't say I hated SAO - in fact, I kind of liked it. But not to the point of loving it...For example, I wouldn't buy any merchandise from it or anything.
Some people in the fanbase go a little...overboard, but that's with every fandom, right? :P
That SAO review was better than what I was expecting. I would suggest not putting the "hey I'm new" speech at the beginning though, because I know a lot of people downvote just for that.
I usually can't stand to read reviews or get near MAL reviewers, but I happened to go through yours as it was on my panel. Not sure why I did given my distaste for reviews, but it looks like you really put a lot of work into your SAO review. :)

I'm really interested in your opinion of this series.
