Great!
Nah I haven't gotten to Homunculus yet but I think it has popped up a few times. Thank you for recommending, I'll probably check it out at some point.
Oh I agree about this kind of content being difficult to grasp and appreciate for most people.
Hmm .. I haven't read all that much manga tbh and there's a lot for me to explore there. I haven't really gotten to psychological manga.
I've heard good things about Junji Ito's work but haven't read any yet.
For me Blame! is an all-time favourite. I loved the atmosphere and for me it was quite thought-provoking.
I hope so too.
My memory works a bit weird and I'm usually not all that fond of rewatching series.
I found Texhnolyze quite amazing. I've always thought "there's some group of people out there pulling the strings and controlling the big picture." On one hand it's a bit scary because people often have their own agendas and wouldn't really care much about other people. On the other hand it's comforting because even if there's an evil agenda, it's still an agenda, there's structure, things are moving. However, what if there's nobody or nothing there, absolutely nobody taking responsibility for humankind as a whole? It might even seem logical that we'd willingly delegate the most crucial responsibilities away to some artificial lifeforms. It's not that we should fear the AI for what it might do, but we really should become self-conscious and start thinking for ourselves, define our own values and live these. Otherwise something else would fill that gap for us, without catering to our needs.
Oh I see. It's good to have that one special series ^^.
I've seen it but for me it was a difficult watch.
I don't know many new philosophical anime either, but I've been waiting for Despera to come out.
Sonny Boy is also not that old yet I think, have you seen it?
Serial Experiments Lain has been very special for me. While some other series might be deeper and more philosophical, I haven't related to others as much.
What's your favorite of all time?
