My first exposure to anime was through Pokemon and Yu Gi Oh in the early 2000's just as it was for no doubt many others. From 2004 until 2007 I was watching lots of DBZ, Inuyasha, and Naruto. After 2007 my interest in anime started to fade as I tried to focus more on school and sports. Then in 2014 after I finished High School I found my interest in anime renewed and marathoned Naruto Shippuden and Bleach including all that awful filler because I didn't know what filler was at the time. I like sci fi and fantasy anime best but I'll give anything a shot.

I prefer anime because of certain scenes. I don't think the anime is a perfect adaptation mostly to the slow start & the filler heavy portions during the 5 chariot arc but I am engaged with the ost which helps strengthening every emotional event of the series. There's a few differences from the manga which help visualize character deaths in a symbolic way. Examples include Juza having the sky reflecting on the floor or flying swans during Rei's fight with Yuda.

800 episodes is way too much to marathon lol ill be watching about 10-20 episodes weekly while still watching other anime im focused on but ive seen every big shonen anime so why not finally give One Piece a try.
