Oh, I forgot to mention that he's proffered the fact that he fast forwards through bad scenes/episodes/anime. Of course he seems to count this as completion on the level of everyone else's completions, too. And he's not even the first elitist I've heard say this!
You can't really say that I've "studied" philosophy either, although understanding myself is something I've spent a great deal of time on, and likewise with understanding others. I also have enough interest in philosophy to have read various things over time, but I couldn't tell you the names of many various philosophies, or list "all" viewpoints within a group. This reminds me of a "math" question on a test where I was asked the name of the method to solve a problem, and I didn't know, despite being able to solve the problem. I think the latter is extremely more important than the former...
I can understand how no one had anything good to say about him. You probably asked normal people and/or people you tolerate or better, so you wouldn't likely get troll/elitist (Funny how often elitists are also trolls, isn't it? ;p) opinions, given the small sample of people asked. He seems to think normal people don't have problems with him, but it's obvious that it's just that people don't want to waste time bothering irredeemable people who have power over them.
Whether something is good or bad is a value judgement, of course. That judgement depends on the purpose of something, and purposes are arbitrary and can freely be different for each different potential being (a potential being not demonstrably existing doesn't deny the validity of the feelings/reasoning which would give cause to its potential opinion, as it is arbitrary what exactly does exist and what doesn't, within the rules of reality). Even two or more non--meaningfully-identical beings claiming to desire the same thing(s) from something actually disagree on the interpretation/details at some level, even if they never or can't discover or show this. Naturally, elitists reject this. They have to if they want to "be" elite by "having" superiority over others. However, they won't admit that their "superior" position is axiomatic (and that their axioms are not explanatory of science/math/logic, i.e. reality), which cuts off their ability to "justify" their conclusions past a very weak point. In the end their reasoning is no better than a bad parent just ordering their children to believe what they say without basis and thus inculcating them to the ways of stupidity and foolishness.

I actually use a combo of Dub and Sub cuz my dvd can only read .AVI with mp3 audio format so the quality of the sound sucks and I might miss some words.
I'll probably re-watch Code Geass in dub just to see how Lelouch sounds in english lol
The only problem with dub is that it's harder to find or just doesn't exist for some series. But you are right, I do enjoy Dub more, especially when you burn it on a dvd and watch it on the tv. Reading and Listening can be completely different.
I watched the first 4 in Sub then the rest in Dub. The only thing I liked about the sub was Miria's VA. The Dub was excellent but the Sub of Miria had something special about it. But yeah the dub did an excellent job here.
I dunno, but Baccano won't be the same without the train lol
I'm gonna try to watch Durarara. Same author, same studio, same director etc. I didn't like the first episode but I guess now I understand why I didn't like it. Durarara and Baccano both have a crazy ass random first episode.
haha I see Baccano got you by surprise. It sure did to me. I was expecting a "LOLDEEP" series because of all the hype. Man I was wrong... one of the best 12 (or 15 if you count the specials) ep series I have ever watched. I never imagined how good they can develop 6234528452 characters in such a short time.
He's a huge elitist/snob and AGGRESSIVE LoGH fanboy (I liked LoGH but I reject that "quality" is "objective" and not arbitrary due to desires being arbitrary, and LoGH has the worst vocal fanbase of anything I know of; its worshippers try to use it as a weapon to put down a great many other anime, often popularly liked ones like Code Geass). He said a bunch of insulting and arbitrary things there, about LoGH, and in the club Critics and Connoisseurs (which I call "elitist club" due to its voting and especially discussion tendencies ;p (I guess I'm a thorn in half of its members' sides)). Him being a mod when he looks down on all normal people is quite a sad thing.
