Hello Santa! ヾ(＾∇＾)

Thank you for recommending me Akumetsu. It's my first year participating in the manga edition and I was really excited to get a manga I've never heard of before! I haven't finished reading yet but I wanted to drop by and give a progress update, as I'm not sure how long it'll take me to actually complete it. Since Akumetsu includes quite a lot of complicated economic vocabulary which I can barely understand in my native language (not English), it's taking me a while to properly take in all of the information per chapter. However, once it all clicks, it's quite a satisfying feeling! ( •̀ᴗ•́ )و ✧

So far, I'm 5 volumes in and really liking the early 2000's setting and visual aesthetic. It's one of my favorite eras of manga to read and the art style of Akumetsu takes me back to other manga from that time period I've read before, such as Liar Game and Alice in Borderland. I'm also a big fan of anti-hero protagonists and Shou fits the bill fairly well – gruesomely murdering corrupt millionaires under the alias "Extinction of evil" is pretty based basically the epitome of morally grey. He has been emitting a somewhat blank aura for now, but his inconsistency and uncanny lack of humane flaws are also drawing me in! I'm invested to find out what his deal is. The fact that he has no living relatives is really suspicious... It's also pretty cool to see the psychological effect of Akumetsu as a phenomenon. You could almost call it an epidemic with the way more and more people feel justified to commit crimes for the sake of vengeance, because the positive public opinion on Akumetsu is normalizing it! (ﾟ⁠οﾟ⁠人⁠)

I'll get back to you once I've actually finished the manga to give a more thorough opinion on the full story. What recommendation(s) did you receive from your Santa?
