You know what, I respect that you came back with a constructed and meaningful response like that.

What I meant by mentioning it was released in 2001 was simply that the issues you mentioned (like the "women aren't good at driving") maybe seem boring and redundant now, but were not back then. In fact, whilst watching, it gave me a feeling of really wanting Impact Blue to defeat Emperor's racer. It makes you want to root for Impact Blue.

Nonetheless, after thinking about it for a while and what you said, I'd probably have to agree on some of the points you made; especially on the mature content and male gaze being out of place, although I don't think they bothered me as much as they bothered you. I enjoyed it. It wasn't great but I thought "awful" was a little harsh.

I know opinions are to be respected even if we do not agree with them. I respect yours and normally I do not react to others' opinions as it results in pointless internet arguments.

I just read your Initial D: Extra Stage review. Damn, you totally trashed the OVA there. That wasn't a review, it was a rant. You seem to have forgotten that it was released in 2001 where the scene of Nakazato staring at Sayuki and the bath scene with Mako were not considered offensive at all. If this anime was being produced now, then I'd say your reaction is fair, but 2001 was a whole 18 years ago. Please consider that in future.
