Its always hard to balance anime with education or work so i know your pain lol. You should give Unlimited blade works a try though its actually really good.
Yea romances between seiyuu's is a tricky subject and you never know what the fans reactions will be like if they get found out. The reaction to Suzuko Mimori's relationship was a good indication of this. Kinda sad actually but this is the cost of being famous i guess. While i do agree with you that the romance was somewhat forceful in the beginning as it went on i thought it started to click.
You should give SAO 2 a try though as its different from the first one in that its more focused and its main heroine is more grounded as well.
Oh and sorry for the late reply i been speed reading through my LN list and binge watching anime's to get through my list.
Well though the anime is certainly not up to everyone's taste's the reason why SAO is that popular is because of its source material the LN which has legions of fans that also includes me. Thats why it gets sequels and movies. Though until now SAO only has two anime's and a movie. When you compare it to series like some of the long running series its really nothing. Actually if the two of them did date for real i'll be happy for them as Ai Kayno's one of my favourite seiyuu's. But i'll take your word for it.
With regards to Rie Takahashi and Inori Minase you are right that they were relatively unknown before it. But it was Re Zero that made their names instantly recognisable to anime fans thanks to their excellent performances. Just like how SAO made Haruka Tomatsu and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka extremely popular. Hmm i remember that creepy guy from Re Zero mainly because of his performance.
Hmm i guess im similar to you in that i started to watch Chinese dubbed since i was a kid. So i would say i been a fan of anime more or less my whole life. Though i switched to sub's by around 2008 because i encountered the seiyuu that introduced me to the role that seiyuu's play in animes which was Nana Mizuki. Starting from there I also got to meet the seiyuu's that i would say led me to really get into anime and appreciate the role of good voice acting in animes. These were Kana Hanazawa and Saori Hayami. It wasn't until 2016 that i got serious into anime though by creating my first review which was for Re Zero which featured an excellent story and stellar voice acting.
