Somehow almost all of the newer Gundam series suffer from the same issue - they start off strong but end up a lazy mess in the second cour. Reducing it to 50 episodes from a 100 didn't help either.

I'm surprised they didn't kill off Almiria or show her damaged for life. So much build up with McGillis for literally nothing to happen in the end.
And don't get me started with Julieta. Her behaviour and thoughts in the ending don't make any sense, it's completely out of line with her character.

Having a lot of characters in itself is not a bad thing, when it's done well. But they failed to follow up on so many of their characters that it makes you wonder why they were introduced in the first place.

It had the potential to become a show I would have loved. Alas. I feel sad now.

Your review for IBO s2 was incredibly spot on. I feel so cheated. We were fed some pretty cheap drama. The writing has been fairly predictable from the start, but they went completely off the rails in s2 - beyond predictable. What's with this abomination riddled with plot holes and cliches? I'm honestly surprised so many reviewers are praising the show and giving it 9s. You're right about "creating tragedy for the sake of tragedy".
What were your thoughts upon seeing the finale?

I think your review for WUG: BtB is pretty spot on, almost every aspect of it suffered from what you said. For me it felt like they had a season written but it fell through and they were only able to make it as 2 movies which created the serious disjointed feeling and lack of so many aspects that made it so good.

at least we do get a legit finish to the story which is pretty rare.
