Start/End Dates before 2014 are estimates but should be quite accurate.
Any score below 5 is extremely rare as I'm pretty picky with what I watch or read. I am not gonna go out of my way to consume something I know I won't enjoy at all, especially with manga.
0 - Absolute audiovisual and narrative failure with no consistently written or decently designed characters or any redeeming qualities whatsoever. An actual offense to the medium. I would never watch anything like that anyway so chances of seeing this score is next to 0 itself.
1 - Something truly horrible looking, inconsistent, badly designed and directed, unprofessionally voice acted (if applicable) and with no interesting ideas whatsoever. But at least it isn't a total offense to the human species. And maybe, very maybe, someone on the team actually tried.
2 - Bad in such a way that it's actually good bad. It's still shit, though.
3 - Very few redeeming qualities, be it a single decent character or scene or an ok plot or idea with horrible execution.
4 - Most likely the lowest score I give anything. It has some redeeming qualities, usually the characters, but has an overall ugly look and bad writing. Chances of ugly cgi anime being put here are very high.
5 - Usually reserved for big disappointments or unentertaining/very boring series. But everything looks decently good, has fine music and voice acting (if animated), has some nice characters or plot elements/story, etc... It just disappointed me in such a way it makes me sad or fall asleep.
6 - Decent, but not good or dragged out like crazy. Might be a well liked series in general but it's just not my cup of tea or left me feeling disappointed. Would most likely never rewatch it.
7 - Good, entertaining enough, has some characters I really like and a nice world. Lots of nostalgic series in here that might not have aged all too well but still have a special place in my heart. Might sometimes rewatch some scenes, full rewatch is rare unless if it's been a very long time or it's a guilty pleasure.
8 - Great series that I liked a lot or that I find very well crafted. Some things might be lacking (like the characters, visuals or plot) but it definitely makes up for its faults with other elements. Rewatch score here is very varied, some I might rewatch regularly and others I don't feel the need for it but I still appreciate the series.
9 - Some of my favourite series or movies that I can rewatch over and over again. Audiovisual spectacles, loveable characters, deep and interesting stories or a combination of all of these. The only reason they don't get a perfect score is because there is some fault that I can't overlook like pacing problems or uninteresting supporting cast.
10 - Actual masterpiece that I love to death. Even if it has faults, they're drowned out by everything else.
Yeah, unfortunately not all series have the same luck as FullMetal Alchemist and now Shaman King. </3 I'm very disappointed at Cloverworks. It's understandable when they make a different ending when a manga isn't complete, but The Promised Neverland was finished and ready to be adapted and they just chose not too... lame.
Yeah, I think it's worth it!
The first arc is really the best one bc of all that feeling of mystery, which was so cool, but there's another arc in the manga that they simply didn't animate that's just as good, everyone was mad that they skipped it. Personally I also liked how the manga ended, and there are important characters who didn't show up in the anime at all, that really pissed off a lot of manga readers (including me lol). So, yeah, give it a try!
Like, the ending is different in the manga. The worldbuilding is different. The "promise" is different.
i guess for people that care about those sorts of features it would be useful but alas i mostly just like keeping track of where i left off with certain series here xD
i can imagine, and now i do too every time i visit your page :(
