That sucked that most of season 2 of Kimi ni todoke was like that. Again that's my beef with "proper manga to anime" adaptations: they're not as creative as they were back in early 2000s era. They didn't skip stupid stuff.
I have watched episodes here and there, I never finished either the two seasons. I am properly watching most of season 1. I hate Kurumi with a passion, so I am skipping episodes with her in it.
I've read the Nodame Finale review, and i'm so glad to see other people thought the same way as i thought of this season. So, thank you very much for your review, it sure was helpful.
I'm very new to this site, but one of the first things I saw was your review of Kamisama Hajimemasite/ Kamisama Kiss and I just wanted to say THANK YOU for showing me I'm not the only one who is really let down by this series. I was surprised how everybody seemed to just fall in love with it. Everybody has a right to their opinion, I just don't get it. I have just recently started to get re-interested in anime again, only to immediately almost lose all faith in it after Kamisama. Just wanted to say you have made me feel a little saner. Appreciate it.
No, wasn't looking for a great romance story. I wanted to be sure it really has no unnecessary drama.
Just an anime with a great music theme and nice interactions of the characters i can enjoy.
Your review on Kimi in Todoke season 2 was great! They were my feelings exactly! I was expecting more character development in Sawako and Kazehaya but for half the season it seemed like they took a step backwards instead of moving forward! The constant misunderstandings only made me angry! All I wanted from the season was cute romance. We got it in the later episodes but as you said the damage was already done. I thought maybe I was the only one but I'm glad I'm not. Though, I still love the anime and the manga/characters so I'm willing to give the anime a relatively good score :)
Kanon 2006, Air, Angel Beats and Anohana are also some of my favourites. Anohana isn't a Key production but it's really good and a great tear-jerker. I didn't care for it as much at first due to the max melodrama at the end, but then I appreciated it fairly quickly and it became one of my top animes. Angel Beats I immediately liked, Kanon, Clannad and Air all need time to get used to and completely understand. If you haven't seen any of Key's other adaptations, I highly recommend you do. I think you'll really enjoy Kanon. It does have confusing parts at first but then it explains it all at the end. Also Kanon's character arcs are better fleshed out than Clannad's, so that may be more satisfying for you. Hint of warning: Tomoyo After is really depressing. Don't watch if you've had a bad day!
Really well done Clannad AS review. You actually gave valid reasons for what you didn't like about it, unlike some other reviewers that just bash an anime simply because they find it overrated and don't have any backup. It's so annoying when people do that. At least say HOW it could have been better and why it failed your expectations rather than just saying "This anime's overrated therefore I'm giving it a low score"
Anyway back on topic, I knew you would say the time travel at the end was the main reason you gave it a 6. I completely understand that. As a Clannad fan, I wouldn't let that one episode knock down all the points, but everyone has different perspectives and nonetheless, it's still a massive cop-out. Unfortunately, Key almost pulled the same stunt with Kanon and Little Busters, only except that Clannad's is by far the worst offender. Kanon's didn't really feel like a major cop-out, so it got away with it. In theory, I think if Clannad AS ended with Tomoya hugging Nagisa on the hill when he says that he regrets saying that he never met her, that would have been perfection. The Dream World, I totally have to disagree with you on that. I bet it's because you wanted there to be more scenes of Tomoya and Co and from time to time, those illusionary scenes show up, but remember they ARE essential. Clannad wouldn't be the same without it. It doesn't always lead to a cop-out. The Clannad movie didn't. In fact, I think you may even like the Clannad's movie ending far far better. The movie in general is very good but some people dislike it because it wasn't very loyal to the original VN which is understandable, but it's better in a way that it cuts out all the unnecessary supporting characters (Fuko, Ryou, Kotomi, Yukine, Mei) and only focuses on the ones that are actually important (Tomoya, Nagisa, Sunohara, Tomoyo, Kyou, Akio/Sanae, Yoshino). Watch that and see if you may like it more than the series, or there's even the Tomoyo After VN.

Anyway, thanks for the help!
I need to know something before that though... does it have a love triangle?
I really dislike it because it is most of the time nothing more than forced drama..
