Haha.. I see.

I haven't played any online games in a while since they usually get old to me pretty quickly. The last one I played was Ai Sp@ce, where Japanese text couldn't even display. My computer wasn't functioning properly at the time.

I think it's situation observation that help me follow what's going on. Camera angles, location, BGM, expressions, etc help quite a lot.

I haven't really had much real life experience with speaking in Japanese... Most of the time, it's only telling people I'm not Japanese while in a Japanese common area.

Yes, it's hard to find imports here. I buy the licensed ones though, which are quite good quality, come with translations, and are much cheaper than the original price.

But wouldn't downloading the series be much simpler to do? You won't even need to spend the cash that way.

Haha... Text based Japanese without hiragana by the kanji is near impossible to read for me. I need audio and visuals in order to make a vague understanding, which is why the only raws I see are anime. Manga once in a while too.

I'm not really fond of spending money for fake DVDs. I mean, it's the actual production team I should be giving cash to, right? The guys who make bootlegs do absolutely nothing but burn cheaper copies...

Visual novels... I've played a few, though they take way to long to complete. And my Japanese isn't fluent enough to play most with a full understanding. There are quite a few I've been meaning to go through eventually though.

Well, that's probably thanks to me follow most of the stuff airing. You could probably subject a hundred or so if OVAs and DVD extras didn't count as entries too.
