Hi, I read your review on Mushoku Tensei. As someone who loves Mushoku Tensei, I'm one of the few to say that this show is NOT about Rudeus trying to become a better person. Its about him trying to live a better life. I know its not the hottest take or anything. It sounds virtually the same.
Being a better person and living a better life are two different things. While I'm not saying its okay for Rudeus to be a pervert, what I am saying is that the people who watch this show expect Rudeus to be less of a pervert and ONLY focus on his perverted behaviours, without really paying attention to the rest of Rudeus' actions.
Some people literally only care about whether or not Rudeus becomes a "good person" by the end of the story, and that definition of "good" is strictly tied to how perverted he is.
I dont see it that way. Rudeus' journey is about him living life, and experiencing everything he couldn't in the past. Working hard, having discipline, travelling the world. There are so many factors that shows that he's not just living a better life, but that he's a better person than he was in his past life and people choose to ignore all of it for the simple "b-but he's a pervert!" argument.
