About Me
Hello~ My name is Ptolemy, but I go by Red or Pt for short. I'm a casual anime fan and a competitive Super Smash Bros Melee player. However, first and foremost I enjoy writing, roleplaying in particular. I don't... very much like talking about myself, so I'll leave it at that. If you want to chat for whatever reason, or even for no reason leave a comment or shoot me a PM; it's never a bother.
Interests/Hobbies
Anime - As a relatively new anime fan I have quite a bit of catching up to do since I still haven't seen many "classics". People say I can be very picky about the shows I like, and I deny that. My favourite genres are Seinen, Psychological, Slice of Life, and Supernatural, and some genres I tend to dislike are Shounen, Mecha, Ecchi, Harem.
Games - Super Smash Bros Melee is my most frequently played game. I'm still learning and improving, and I try to attend tournaments whenever possible. I main Puff and secondary Marth.
That being said, Smash isn't my favourite game series since that honor goes to Fire Emblem. I've played FE4, and FE6 through FE15, and I'm currently working on beating FE5 (menu translation patch
here). I also play FE:Heroes to kill time.
Other game series I like are Danganronpa, Persona, Zero Escape, Ace Attorney, and the Tales series.
RP - This accounts for 99% of my activity on MAL. I think it's a fantastic hobby for those seeking a creative outlet. I met many of my closest friends in RP clubs, and it helps improve my writing skills too. Working on character sheets and RP concepts is how I most enjoy spending my free time.
Tea - As an avid tea drinker, I
need to have like having a mug with me whenever possible. I mainly prefer black teas with Earl Grey being my favourite. Assam and Darjeeling follow closely behind.
Top Anime
Of all the shows I've seen, 9 of them really stood out to me as being a notch above the rest. I thought about ranking each show based on characters, plot, sound, and art on a scale of 1 to 10, but since that would just be a lot of 9/10 and 10/10 it doesn't say much. Instead, I decided to compare the 9 shows to each other and rank them in various categories from 1 to 9, where rank 1/9 is the best in that category, and 1/33 is the best possible weighted total. All the ratings are subjective of course, so without further ado:

Recommendations
Anime: Madoka Magica and Sora no Woto can be enjoyed by anyone. Both the shows are cleanly presented and have universal themes that can be appreciated by everyone. Neither show is particularly niche, and most importantly they are both quite good.
Manga: Wakusei no Samidare (Hoshi no Samidare) is a brilliant fantasy story that has a bit of everything in it. The plot, characters, and art are all endlessly engaging.
Light Novel: HakoMari! The story is extremely convoluted but it's fantastic and I love it, and you will too probably.
