Made it when I had a Kurisu themed profile but I like this. So didn't change
I'm fine. Just finished watching a movie and going to grab some beer hahaha
How do you like Horimiya: Piece as far?
It's nice to meet you. how are you?
mythology is so fun~ i've been interested in starting the Fate series!
heard it makes references to greek mythology so maybe you might like it as well ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ
and thank you so much!!
nice to meet you~
i love your profile!
[PS: A late replier,so just bear with me :) ]
Hey I think creating a playlist in itself is fun, I tend to find any excuse to make a new playlist! What do you normally use, spotify? I'm actually debating if I should switch platforms
I don't tend to listen to taylor swift unless I'm around friends who like her tbh, I think the last song I had as a regular on a playlist was shake it off way back in the day xD hmm so from what I know about you so far...your fave genre of music is country songs that make you vulnerable - how close am I? :D
Hope the playlist is going well!
Glad to find a fellow newbie, let's navigate these hazardous waters together! That sounds interesting, I didn't think that manhwa setting about a character realising they're doomed and need to revert their fate would work in a live drama setting. Is it a romcom too? I really enjoy watching romance in live drama settings. Oh I watched some Brooklyn Nine-Nine too, it's great for a laugh! My fave scene is still prob the one they find the murderer by singing I Want It That Way xD
What no way! smh your friends need to get a better taste in manhwas! Luckily I have a few weeby friends I can talk about this stuff with hahaha, even though their tastes are normally a lot more ... fruity than mine
I'm glad you enjoyed it! And same, I like grey characters more than ones that are just absolutely good and I love it when they run into problems, too many reincarnation/revenge stories have it where the MC who goes back in time just has everything go pretty much perfectly their way which isnt the most exciting.
Nooo what's with you and recommending good manhwas in hiatus xDD I'm also caught up to Death is the Only Ending and now I need to find something else to fill the void while I wait for it to be off hiatus. Not sure I can handle another really good recc on hiatus haha
Oh wow really? that's dedication! Maybe I should give it a try, but idk when I'll have time to properly sit down and read a novel from start to finish since my life is kinda stacked with stuff I need to do D: I've even had to adjust my yearly reading of The Silmarillion to once every 2 years :c And hey, greek/roman is the juicy steak of mythologies so you're off to a great start! I think they do the best job at portraying 'realistic' gods in the sense that they're just like humans but with superpowers
Hey follow my reccs for anything Tolkien and you'll be in good hands :D just a word of warning: I can talk endlessly about tolkien so approach the topic at your own peril! I would say the LoTR books can be a tough read due to the language it uses sometimes, so its always better to start off reading the hobbit then watching the LoTR trilogy (we pretend the hobbit film trilogy and the abomination that is the amazon LoTR tv show don't exist)
Hey if there's a will there's a way! I actually only really started watching anime after I went to uni so I'm sure you'll be fine!
Good luck on your japanese, maybe you can be my translator when I go to Japan hahaha. I'm terrible at picking up new languages, I have some horror stories from my school days so idt trying to pick up japanese myself will end well!
I'm super busy with research stuff rn D: but I'm actually considering entering the MAL writing contest, really not sure if I have the time though but it seems interesting and I've been meaning to dust off my writing mitts
Hey, I'm listening to music myself most of the time so I don't mind adding my own soundtracks when reading!
Wow Tay Swift, I haven't heard that name in a while xD Don't tell me you're a swiftie (or whatever they call themselves, I swear it changes every week), one of my good friends is a swiftie and literally all of his profile pics and stuff is a photo of her haha
But I think I know what kinda songs you're talking about, you can try 'Love Yourself' by Justin Bieber or 'Gone' by Rose, I think those probably fit into the same category. If you're happy to listen to non-english songs then also give 'Hoshi To Kimi Ga Kieta Hi' (JP) and '我的一个道姑朋友' (CN) a try. Lmk if you like them, I can give you more reccs if they're the kinda thing you're looking for!
Funnily enough, I've only actually ever seen 3 Kdramas including 19th Life and King the Land hahaha, the other one I watched was Snowdrop. I started watching 19th Life since I liked the manwha so much, then I got reccs for King the Land and it looked really fun so I said screw it I'll watch that one too. What sitcoms do you enjoy? I think I lean towards longer shows for western dramas too like Suits or Breaking Bad
By the way I started reading the villainess manga, I'm actually enjoying it a lot and the art style is really nice. I kinda enjoy the unique nature of it actually behaving like a game with events and the bar above the main leads' heads - I totally understand the thing you were trying to explain previously about it being game-like when i was so confused before!
oh no it's only 60% done? and do you have any idea about the status of the hiatus and why it's happening? there's nothing that bothers me more than waiting endlessly for someone to finish a good story D:
Yeah, I did a lot of reading on different mythologies before so it's always been something I've been interested in!
I just had a look at Archilles's Song, I tend to get wary of adaptations of the Odyssey/Illiad since a lot of them don't really capture the essence of the works (still pretending the 2004 film Troy doesn't exist xD)
I'd recommend you watch all three LoTR films so you have a rough idea what's happening before you read the books, since the books are pretty heavy if you're going in blind! Plus the films really are amazing, don't watch the hobbit films though I tried bleaching my eyes after it xD
Yeah the Hobbit is a very good start! it's much easier to read since it was originally the story Tolkien told his children before bedtime and is actually set around 60 years before LoTR. Deffo a good way to get into Tokien's writing
Oh boy differential equations are the easy part xD it's just the tip of the sadness iceberg
Are you doing anything interesting over summer break? it seems like the perfect time to binge on stuff you may not have as much time for once uni starts!
