Hi hi! My name is Raya (you can call me Ray for short if you'd like) and I'm a university student majoring in Computer Science but also an online artist aspiring to make visual art her full-time career!

Anime/manga have always been a major inspiration for me for as long as I remember—being Palestinian-American, my mother would play Arabic dubbed anime for me to watch for entertainment purposes and to learn formal Arabic in the process! The anime I'd religiously watched during my childhood consisted of 70s-early 2000s gems, and I was enamored by the different stories in each show. But what mostly caught my attention was the brilliant visuals and incredible art that rewired my brain, to say the least haha!

And when I read my first manga (*Tokyo Mew Mew*) in the 5th grade, I knew I wanted to become an artist and illustrate my own stories.

I let go of anime at some point in my teenage years, as it became "cringe" to younger me, but after graduating high school, I was left with severe anxiety, depression, and worse of all—the inability to pursue my dreams.

Inevitably, I returned to my anime roots and that spark inside was slowly but surely reigniting.

I'm slow at keeping up with certain shows and manga, but I thoroughly like to watch each and every one of them (the good, the bad, and the ugly) out of mere fascination, taking mental notes on artistic directions and what makes a story so great (or not) along the way. Of course, this MAL profile is the key to keeping track of all of that too!

I'm also looking to make some friends along the way and get to socialize more too! So feel free to hit me up with a friend request and message! I look forward to getting to know y'all so long as you know your boundaries and aren't a bum or creep.

My ratings vary and some may change over time too—I also like using the notes in some of my lists to leave mini reviews and thoughts I have towards some shows since I'm too shy to leave legitimate reviews / u \ ;;

Whether our thoughts and opinions towards certain shows are similar or differ, I don't mind discussing it and accepting what other people have to say about certain things (as long as the topic isn't anything... y'know—illegal or immoral...)
