BEFORE SENDING ME A FRIEND REQUEST, MAKE SURE THAT ME HAVE MET SOMEWHERE ON MAL AND/OR TALKED TO EACH OTHER, OTHERWISE YOUR FRIEND REQUEST WILL BE DECLINED
As of recently I've kind of lost interest in tracking these kind of things as I've been occupied with other things. What I do know, is that RoughSketch is going to release some new track in May, which may as well be referring to an M3-春 release. I'd hope for a 108 Sketches 3, but that would seem to good to be true. No idea about m1dy, as I'm completely not into speedcore, but usually the guhroovy website would mention it if there would be.
I've been listening to progressive house/trance lately as I did a few years back and have only been keeping with that kind of music as of late. It's not like I don't listen to hardcore or anything, though, it's just that priority switched for now. Usually, in this 'scene' the artists/circles/labels etc. announce a new release a few weeks before the event starts, it does happen from time to time that they are late (as in, last moment call) with announcing, but that doesn't happen too often. The most common events would be Comiket (mid August, end December) and M3 (usually mid/end May and mid/end October.) Comiket is usually flooded with lots of Touhou arrange albums the past few years, so filtering yourself through to obtain some good stuff may take a while.
Maybe you should follow the artists' twitter if they have one, sometimes you might find some stuff that's relevant to you, such as ustream sessions and such they do or follow.
Ah, yes, I do vaguely remember a certain know-it-all JERK under a different nick in there, it's the same you?
Anyway, leaving that trivial matter aside, well, it kind of depends on what you're looking for, if it's just the hardcore part then yeah guhroovy is pretty much what you're looking for. For some other things you may have to check out some other web stores (usually older things, not necessarily insanely rare that have only a few pressed releases) that don't actually ship to outside of Japan, meaning you will need to make use of a deputy service (which may be rather pricey depending on what it is) or find someone who lives there to order it for you and then ships it to you afterwards (basically the same idea.) Some stores stock more of a certain kind of releases than the other one does, i.e. one mostly sells touhou arrange albums, the other one doesn't at all etc. Sometimes you just might find someone selling a bunch of albums (sealed/unsealed) on forums, so there's that possibility, too.
There are times in which the artist may just sell them if you mail them and if they make use of paypal, but most of them don't know English, so those cases are uncommon. There are cases such as Diverse System who still attempt to open up to a broader market, so it's definitely not out of the question. though. Hardcore TANO*C opened their web shop a few months ago and started selling pretty much anything that's relevant or related to their little circle, but that one is only open to people who reside in Japan. Who knows, maybe someday it will be open to oversea mail orders, too.
CDs are rather expensive, especially commercial releases, in Japan (about ¥3000 an album). So the 'jcore' (I don't like that umbrella term) which pretty much get mostly released at events are actually fairly cheap in comparison (could range from even ¥500 to ¥2000 depending on the label or 'doujin circle' (not sure if you're familiar with that term yet) and the amount of tracks it has.
What are you planning to get from guhroovy, anyway?
Eddie and Nick (the ones who run mdsb) used to lurk on #mydjsobad in rizon (IRC) but they rarely show up these days. I think either of them did say such things happen occasionally, in which you should just put the order through directly via them on there, but should be possible by e-mail too, although I'm not sure what the mail is since I don't order from there.
May I ask who in the world referred you to me? I don't remember anyone telling it on here.
Also, they use Air Mail. I think you can ask them to ship by EMS, but that will cost you a bit more.
Finally, there's www.mydjsobad.com who's run by some Californian dudes. With the current situation of Japan, and depending on what you are planning to order, it may be what you're looking for. It's a little slow on adding more things, however.
Yes, they do ship outside Japan. However, it's basically just one man who handles the oversea orders, who at the same time, may be very busy depending on his own schedule. There are times when the order is processed and shipped right on the day when the payment has been sent (by paypal) or it may take up a few days. Shipping cost kind of varies on how many CDs you order, but expect it to be at least ¥1000.
Try mailorder[at]guhroovy.com for English mail orders. Most likely DJ Chucky will be the one replying (as he is the one who handles them.)
Wow. That is what I call an explanation. I didn´t ever thought about Anime genres so much ya know. I just watch random Anime series. I like a lot of action but it should have romance too but not so much that it disturbs the anime itself.
