Well i do believe i cant disagree with u on that. Rengoku got a lot less screen time and if people havent read the extras then they might never know about his personality. So yeah i agree with u on that

I am going to answer some issues that u had with the mugen train movie(This is not a attack I just wanted to clear some stuff so that u could understand) The reason why they were sad was because 1st rengoku acted as a teacher to them not only did he Taught, he guided them towards the better which developed all the characters. 2nd He swore to protect everyone and did just that. He (Like wind pillar for example) could have brought those 3 and could have used them as a sacrifice and nobody would have blamed him because it was a upper moon, however not only did he protected his juniours, He even Tried his best to sheild them like a guardian. To all of them He was basically a like a knight and Given the fact that he faced 2 threats which no hashira has ever faced before(Coming in contact with 2 moons at the same time) He Sacrificed himself in order to Protect everyone. Tanjirou feels that he could have been sacrificed because it was a great loss and everyone feels like they were just a hindrance to the pillar in a way. And he could have become a demon as well but didnt. And then the dialouge in the end in which he gives everyone encouragment so that his death is basically a stepping stone for them
