Welcome to the list fellas! Here's how decided to rate anime/manga and how i decided to set up my profile
- The rating i give the anime/manga is based on how good i think it is objectively. My subjective enjoyment rating of the anime/manga will be in the tags section of my list, as well as whether i watched in sub or dub
- If you wanna know how i try to make the distinction between objectivity and enjoyment, this video puts it pretty nicely

I admire critical reviewers who delve deeply into their analytical assessments of shows or other media. While I can provide detailed analyses, I often prefer to discuss specific aspects of a series more extensively more than others. In my Demon Slayer review, a significant portion centers around my perception of the initial shock value deaths in the show's beginning, highlighting the lack of substantial characterization. This deficiency, in turn, affects the later dynamic between Tanjiro and Nezuko, which I perceive as having a weak foundation.
My concern revolves around the limited exploration of Tanjiro and Nezuko's relationship beyond being identified as brother and sister. Although there's an acknowledgment of their care for each other, my frustration arises from the show's failure to invest effort in expanding on the sibling dynamic with richer details. This absence of depth diminishes the impact of the family's transformation and massacre, reducing what could be a tender and emotionally resonant moment to mere shock value that is emotionally manipulative in some ways It's much like Horror movies with Jumpscares that shock you not due to Horror but because of physiological reactions.
for a lot of my reviews, I want to properly dissect and understand how a piece of media achieves a desired affect sometimes I have Biasis wether it be nostalgia or relatability I think everyone has a bias with media but that shouldn't prevent from trying to be as objective as you can so substantiate the narrative of your feeling with the film
Its why I get kinda peeved when some videos are just people saying things about an anime or film and not substantiating them or citing the text so to speak
"It's good because it's good"
While I don't mind people who use reviews to talk about their enjoyment and there may be kernals of truth to what they say from their experiences I want more distinct and clear analysis which is why I filter for "Well-Written Reviews" like yours
I hope theirs a grain of empathy embedded in the manga for Seiko as I grow up I realized my own Mother was the result of betrayals and an isolative family background that never paid attention to her making her fend for herself so a lot of times Narcissism is a bit of a coping and survival mechanism
that facet of "Your Parents are people with their own History" is somewhat horrifying mostly for a child to take in
I don't want to demonize parents like Seiko completely personally but I don't think they should be vindicated for what they've done as it's incredibly disturbing and unethical for a parent to do such a thing with a child they're entrusted to care for
The Gaslighting and Manipulation present strike a bit too close to home as well as the mental decline of Shuichi's mother all adds to that turbulent time in childhood
It's a shame to hear that horror sort of ebbs away
