Hey I'm RDW & I'm from England. I'm a photographer who enjoys watching anime when I have the time.
With regards to my preferences, I tend to lean more towards seinen and sometimes josei oriented anime. My favourite genres are mystery, comedy, supernatural, psychological, thriller, drama and action, but I am still open to other genres (excluding ecchi & harem etc).
Apart from anime, I like to play video games with some favourites being Dishonored and DA:I. I also like to watch TV shows such as Rick & Morty & RuPaul's Drag Race.
I love music and my favourite bands are probably Incubus, Don Broco, Catfish & the Bottlemen, Deftones, RHCP, Gorillaz & Radiohead.
I'm also a super creative and arty person and love going to exhibitions and learning about new things. Some of my favourite creators are Tim Walker, M.C. Escher, David LaChapelle, Edward Hopper, Harumi Hironaka, Maruo Suehiro...the list goes on.
If you want to see what I look like, just ask nicely. Feel free to strike up a conversation if you fancy it, I like talking about stuff.
Yeah that's a shame, you could get an electronic kit?
I've been playing for about 8 years now, no I'm not in a band, never have been actually, though I would like to. It's not like I've never played with other people though because I did that at school, but never in a band.
Oh wow really? I remember my friend getting a Rock Werchter ticket one day before they were sold out ._. He was lucky lol. And yeah I'm from the Netherlands so we're neighbours! \o/ (with a big pool in between)
Naaaaah they didn't even release a single yet D: singing along without knowing the words is what I usually do, cba to learn them all :P
Cool, I'm usually a dub watcher if ive got a choice, that's beings said some of my fav's don't have dubs and that is what it is. That being said I remember the English dub of black butler irking me because of the fake British accent Were not very convincing, not dick van Dyck in Mary Poppins levels of a bad but still not great.
lol that's cool, Ya as far as I can tell sky blue/ wonderful Days never received the DVD release in America and the one on Amazon/US is the UK release, shame I liked it well enough, and we dubbed it I think. So not sure what's up with that, but then again we dubbed monster and never finish the release of it here so who knows.
Have you ever seen a anime film in the theater before? I just learned An art house theater here in my home town tends to get anime movies ( waiting for them to hurry up and screen silent voice)
No problem, and likewise I really appreciate your taste. Gintama, Mushishi and Baccano simply great.
Yeah, I also enjoy finding fellow Bebop fans here. It's my favourite anime after all and I only grow more appreciative of it as time goes on. It's stylistically eclectic while maintaining a consistent and unique identity and manages to create one of the most realistic casts I have ever seen in any piece of media.
Monster's also a masterpiece as far as I'm concerned. It's got a slow pace but this is to the ship's benefit as it aids in creating its tense atmosphere and intricately establishing plot points that come into play later. It's also got stellar direction and one of the most compelling villains I've come across.
Thanks, and it's great to find a fellow Edward Hopper fan on this site. I love his work as I find it really evocative. Escher is great too. Love the sheer amount of detail in his stuff.
So you're into photography? That's cool. Myself, I don't take a whole lot of photos, but I have bunch of photos from holiday trips and whatnot. I like to think I have a good eye for aesthetics.
Also, props for mentioning Gorillaz in your favorite artists. c: Got a favorite tune by them?
I hate the sound of someone slurping noodles. Ah, it's partially why I like being alone, I don't have to hear people making noise. I'm also very selective with music groups I like and such, because most singers have annoying voices, to me.
Ha, yeah. I used to be so fearful of telling people about my problems that the very thought of doing it made me start having panic attacks. Then after I told someone, nothing changed at all. There was a time last year when I started thinking like an anorexic person and lost a lot of weight. I knew I couldn't get help for it, so I helped myself out of it. Yeah, my physical health really gets neglected, too. Well, people don't take me very seriously. That's why I try to be as serious as I can online. What problems do you have?
Hmmm, I've never been to another country before.
Also curious about the anime scene in the U.K? Are you a dub or sub watcher, if you are a dub watcher do the American accents in the dubs other you at all? I'm curious.
I see you've seen wonderful days, is it more popular in the U.K. Anime scene, I don't even think it has a DVD release here in the states.
Hm. Living with delusions is a big issue for me. Essentially if someone is making sound I don't want them to make (being loud, crying...), I get very irritated and start having vivid thoughts of harming them. Ah, I'm from the US. I was told months ago that I would be able to see a psychologist "soon," but whenever someone says "soon" to me, it means not anytime soon. That's why I've had a concussion for 8 months, because no one ever took me to see a doctor and get help. I can function properly, but if someone says something I don't understand, or if something stresses me out, my head starts hurting terribly. Apparently if you have a head injury, you have to have 30 minutes-2 hours of internet per day for 2 or so weeks. I tried doing that, but lasted four days. I'm obsessed with the internet, so I felt depressed when I was away from it, and my hallucinations got worse. My schedule was all fucked up.
But you never figure out what happens afterward.
Ooooh glad to see someone else who loves them too! Also catfish and the bottlemen btw, love that band <3. The nbhd has been teasing their new album on instagram btw. I want it already D:

The colour pallet is a bit different to my avatar because I edited it a bit.
Why don't you play the drums anymore? I'm assuming it's probably because you don't have enough time and/or space?
Nuuuuu it's not out yet, they're just teasing with half muted sounds and pictures :/
I don't think there's any nbhd song I don't love tbh :P but sweater weather is defo one of the best <3
