Hope you're doing fine as well. Thanks for the feedback on my review and I gotta say I totally agree with your take on visual horror. There are many incredible psychological horror anime, but it's so rare to come by any visual horror anime that lives up to the name of Junji Ito or horror movies. The Junji Ito's adaptations just seem to fail to capture what makes his work memorable and other visual horror stories just miss the mark too. Yami Shibai actually made a worthwhile job back in the original but now it's just a hollow shell of its past self.
Also your comment came in a good time as apparently yet another Yami Shibai season is a few months from release. I actually thought season 10 pointed to be the last. Guess I'll be reviewing that one when the time comes. Who knows if they'll do a decent work this time, I highly doubt it at this point though.
Most of the times it bugs me even more when there are awesome art and animations in hentais like that >.< Curiously, I have realized that most of those hentais have better art and animation compared to other hentais >.< Make me go "noooooooo!!!" xD At the same time, it must be very nice for those who enjoy NTR and/or ugly/fat male characters.
Haha probably that won´t happen >.< My review for that hentai would be very biased due to its tags >.< I dropped it along the way =(
But I believe those two reviews there are good or on point. I specially resonates with Tiny-Ducc´s review.
That being said, I loved every second of this show. What I liked the most was the insane amount of cockteasing. I certainly felt the lack of nips, but hey, that's the entire appeal of Japanese censorship. The music was top notch with some really good erotic tracks to set the mood, and both pairs of OP/EDs were bangers.
The characters felt very unique too, especially Riko, I absolutely loved her. Keita wasn't some annoying self insert who gets too chicken to do anything. Kiryuu Sensei being an Otaku obsessed with warlords was a nice touch. Mikuni really brought out some fetishes I didn't even know I had. And somebody needs to give Papa Suminoe the Dad of the Year Award.
The comedy was extremely organic and not one bit of it felt forced, which isn't very common these days. On a side note, I don't see why people only recommend watching the OVAs. The TV show is a great story arc in its own right, and must certainly be included in the watch order.
I walked in expecting some dumb ecchi shit, but got this beautiful, beautiful piece of art instead.
