Oh yeah, I definitely see why. I'm glad it impacted you so much in that way. Miyamura's character arc was super compelling and I'd say it's the driving force behind the show (apart from the side plots, which also managed to hold off on their own really well). I loved seeing his backstory and the way he gradually started to change from connecting with the people around him. I also love how the show has this sort of "mundane" aspect to it. Nothing feels forced or contrived just for the sake of having "spicy" plot points; it all just happens naturally. I actually loved the confession scene because of this exact same reason. The way it just sort of came out randomly from Miyamura and how Hori accepted it, just like that, despite being in an awkward circumstance was just so incredibly endearing. Adding this element of the event being an accident made it feel way more authentic to me, and it made me love the characters even more. It was a great way to reaffirm the already existing connection between them, and needless to say, taking it one step further as well. It was just as much a piece of development as well as a way to highlight what was there already. Merging those two things creates this sense of authenticity, I think, which in turn makes it not feel forced at all, but a natural point in their character journeys.
