ごきげんよう、貴婦人!

Have you been studying Japanese too and what do you think of the recent Gundam SEED movie?
DiabloMask Apr 26, 2018 10:18 PM
Hi, I hope you're feeling well, I know I'm three weeks late to say this but good luck, also I hope your date went well.

Wait, Olga is half of Hibito's age?! I don't remember much about her to be honest, but I don't think I knew about that.
What's with the weird ages in anime? Seriously sometimes they make 14 years old who look like they're 30, and sometimes they do the opposite!

Lol Inuyashiki is too short it'd be easy to finish, I'm sure you'll finish it... someday.

Hmmm personally I liked Destiny a lot, but I watched it back when I was getting into anime so it's something special to me, although I know it has too many problems.
I think most of the problems Destiny had were in its last quarter, it was running out of budget and the writer made some horrible decisions.
Not just Mu La Flaga, at some point Shin went batshit insane and killed Kira and Athrun, I can't tell if the fans rioted so hard that they had to bring them back, or if the writer realized Shin's story was going downhill so they decided to undo what he did, but either ways it was clear they weren't planning far ahead, they didn't know what to do with Shin even though he was the main character!
As for Kira I didn't mind making him a side character, in fact I thought it was cool that they focused on other characters, especially Athrun.
I agree about the fake Lacus, she didn't deserve to have a whole episode dedicated to her, especially when they were running out of budget, they could've easily let her die back when Athrun was running away, like make her run with him, get shot and be over with.
The problem with the flashbacks is probably the low budget, if I remember correctly there were 5 or 6 freaking recap episodes, it's funny that they still made 3 recap movies afterwards and didn't bother taking that opportunity to fix anything (would've been funnier if they included the recap episodes in the recap movies and had flashbacks in them).
EDIT: Seems like I missed the point of this topic lol.
I can't really convince someone that Destiny is worth watching, but also I don't think Destiny "ruined" SEED, sure it had its own problems, like bringing back Mu La Flaga, but there are also many things that were done right.
For example I think Durandal was a great villain, he wasn't pure evil like the other villains of the series, and halfway through you don't even know that he's gonna be the final boss.
Anyway personally my favorite thing about Destiny is that it's full of epic and emotional scenes, so yeah I only think of it as a fun series, not a well written one.
I think in the end it all comes down to what you expect from the series, if you only watch it for the fun that you only find in the Gundam franchise, then it's worth watching (the same thing applies to other Gundam shows, like AGE and Build Fighters).

About Turn A Gundam, I feel bad that I didn't read what you wrote about it, because I haven't watched it yet, maybe I should sometime soon, there are many Gundam shows that I haven't watched yet, Turn A, Victory, Gundam X, Origin, Thunderbolt, Unicorn, and still haven't finished AGE.
And I'm planning to rewatch Orphans sometime lol.

Maybe I would've liked Valvrave if I watched it a few years earlier, lately I've been very nitpicky, but it was pretty ridiculous to be honest, also I didn't like any of the main characters.
Chrno Crusade is one of the shows I regret not watching earlier, it's good so far but feels like most of its ideas were don in later shows that they don't feel unique anymore.
Escaflowne on the other hand feels like something we don't have enough of, aside from the shoujo stuff lol.

Yeah I did bring myself to watch many of last season's shows this month, I guess I shouldn't have bothered.
Mitsuboushi Colors was pretty funny, if you like things like Non Non Biyori and Barakamon you'll definitely like it.
Saiki Kusou is my favorite too, I haven't watched anything from Seven Deadly Sins after season 1.
Darling in the Franxx is decent but I didn't like any of its characters, they're as annoying as Valvrave's.
Overlord feels kinda pointless, I really liked the idea of the plot focusing on new characters and making Ainz the villain, but what's the point if his subordinates are too overpowered that the new characters are gonna lose miserably and then join his army!
I haven't watched Children of the Whale, Garo the Vanishing Line, Death March, Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen, and After the Rain, I'm halfway through Violet Evergarden and so far it's not that great, but I heard it gets better.
B: The Beginning felt like an action show trying to look smart, but it was good overall, I only watched one episode of Kokkoku and didn't feel excited to continue watching.
I also watched Fate/Extra which was a total mess, A.I.C.O. which was decent but nothing special.
And I watched then dropped Toji no Miku, Sword Gai, Grancrest Senki and Basilisk, and all of them are pretty bad.

Oh that backstory in Hajime no Ippo was amazing! I never liked a backstory so much as I did with this one, I hope Madhouse will make a new season for Hajime no Ippo while they are on fire, they aired three shows last season and already announced two sequels in the next season (Kaiji and Overlord).
Speaking of Megalo Box I watched episode 1 yesterday, it was great! The only reason I haven't watched episode 2 yet is because I have an internet problem and don't want to watch the episode in low quality.
I also watched many other shows, Mahou Shoujo Site was pretty bad, Hisone and Masotan was okay but I put it on hold for now, Golden Kamuy and Layton are interesting I'm gonna keep watching them, and finally Hinamatsuri which is my second favorite after Megalo Box.
I'm planning to wait for Hero Academia and Major 2 to finish airing, and I'm planning to watch Persona 5 after I play the game.
DiabloMask Mar 11, 2018 11:04 AM
Hi, how're you?
Sorry for the hiatus :P (this is not just a delay anymore lol).

I guess the lack of focus sums up most of the problems with Diamond no Ace, it feels like the writer has too much in mind but can't afford to make the plot slow since it's a sports manga (although Cross Game managed to pull that off perfectly).
But the biggest problem was with the characters, as you said, the rivals are too boring and forgettable.
I think the seniors of the MC's team (forgot its name) had the most interesting personailities and designs, they should've been rivals instead, too bad they graduated and became irrelevant to the plot.

D.Gray-Man is lacking many important things that a long running series shouldn't be lacking, Like world building, it starts off as it's taking place in the real world and normal people are not aware of the akuma's existence, but later on it looks like a fantasy world where the Millenium Earl has taken on Japan and the akuma are eveywhere.
The second thing is the abilities, they are never explained and the characters use random attacks in every battle, the only ones that have kind of consistent abilities are Lavy and Miranda.
Lastly the power levels, the characters don't go through any training and hardly enough experience to get stronger, and before you know it they have introduced more powerful villains, seriously level 3 akuma only had exactly 2 fights (and they were pretty powerful in them) before turning into small fries!
It's a pretty cool series though, I used to be a big fan of it in the past and now I'm reading the manga, trying to catch up to Hollow and watch it.

I forgot that you haven't finished Space Brothers, for some reason bringing up Mutta and Serika reminded me of Net Juu no Susume lol.
I've watched Texhnolyze over 10 years ago, back then I didn't understand anything from it and I have no idea how I managed to finish it, it was too boring, but lately I've been planning to re watch it, do you think it's worth it?

About Juuni Taisen, actually at the middle of episode 1 I already guessed the formula it was going to follow but I thought I'd give it a chance, after a few episodes I thought it got better but once the Monkey died I couldn't take the show seriously anymore, and yeah the twin were pointless.
I think Zero kara Hajimaru was very mediocre, I didn't expect much from it the moment I realized how its title was an obvious rip off of Re: Zero, although it was a completely different series.
Net-Juu was one of the best shows of the year in my opinion, along with Made in Abyss and Inuyashiki (have you finished Inuyashiki yet?).

I was planning to finish King's Game out of curiousity on how it's gonna end, but when I heard they announced a second season for it I decided drop it, there's no way I'm watching twice as much of this crap just because I'm curious!
Lol I knew Live or Evil was gonna be garbage from the title alone as well, but I didn't expect it to be worse than King's Game!

Fate/Apcrypha had so much potential in my opinion, but the main character kinda ruined the show for me, also I liked it more when it was a battle royale and not a fight between good and evil.
It was decent though all things considered, and the fights near the end were pretty cool.

Lol so Yu yu Hakusho started off as a "spirit detective", and turned into tournament arcs, I'm not sure if I'm gonna pick it up any time soon, but maybe the sequel will motivate me.

So, how's this season going? What's your impression on the currently airing shows?
Personally I haven't been watching that much since I've been very busy lately, so I still can't judge the season properly.
Also I'm watching some old shows, like Chrno Crusade, Valverave (not sure why I'm bothering with this one), Nichijou, and Tenkuu no Escaflowne.
DiabloMask Dec 29, 2017 10:41 AM
Lol Valar Morconvo XD
Yeah, I feel like I want more of Cross Game, but on the other hand when I saw the length of the manga I thought the adaptation wasn't complete (and considering it's from Madhouse, it'd never get a sequel), so I was glad it ended.

Actually I had a feeling at the beginning that Aoba was a love interest for Kou, but I guess their relationship with the other characters distracted me, especially when Kou promised Akane to go on a date with her near the end, it kinda sealed it for me, but what impressed me is that when I go back to some parts in the show I feel like the ending makes total sense, Aoba always had feelings for Kou, It shows how well written the story is.

I totally agree, holding hands and taking a picture together was a nice way to confirm it, and it was cute when Aoba asked for a copy of the picture, I'm glad they didn't go far with it (like showing them as wife and husband in the future), or ending it with the cliche' "they're a couple but will keep acting the same way as if nothing's changed" we get in some romance anime.

Yeah the OP and art style are two of the things that made the show so great, not sure if it's because of Madhouse's magic or the mangaka's classic style, this makes me wanna check out his other works.

About Diamond no Ace, yeah I liked the show so much in its first 40 or 50 episodes, but I literally don't remember anything from what happened afterwards, it became too boring and forgettable, also I kinda lost interest in most of the cast (Narumiya Mei has the most boring personality and character design for someone who's supposed to be the biggest rival of the protagonists).

I'm watching a lot of stuff actually, since we're at the start of a new year I wanted to finish as many as possible of the shows from previous seasons that I put on hold.
Recently I finished Juuni Taisen (I have mixed feelings about it, it's dumb but fun), Zero Kara Hajimeru bla bla bla (the most medicore and forgettable show of the year), Re Creators (it had so much potential but ended up disappointing imo), Gabriel DropOut (not a bad comedy, but nothing great either), ACCA (it was too slow but pretty good), and I marathoned Net-Juu no Susume with my friends in one night, it's definitely one of the best shows of the year.

Next I'm gonna try to finish Gamers, Ousama Game and Evil or Live (they're both hilarious XD), and Fate/Apocrypha (I'm gonna give it a chance).
I'm also watching Inuyashiki, Kino's Journey, Himouto Umaru-chan R, and Little Witch Academia with my friends (which is why I'm taking too long with them).
As for older anime, I only caught up to Detective Conan recently, and honestly it's the slowest thing ever! I've been keeping it on hold for over 2 years, and when I picked it up again I only got less than 30 episodes (after excluding the fillers) and only about 8 of them advanced the plot!

D.Gray-Man is so nostalgic for me, I watched it over 8 years ago and started reading the manga a couple of years ago, do you like it? and did you watch the sequel?
As for Yu Yu Hakusho, I put it on hold right after I finished Toguro's arc, not sure how long it's been, so how's the next arc? do you recommend I pick it up?

I don't know about Star Wars, I'm from the minority that haven't watched the old movies lol.
Are you an old fan of the franchise?

Oh you have no idea how much I've been stocking up recently lol, I'm not sure how much is repealing Net Neutrality going to affect the anime community, but I guess we'd better be prepared for the worst.
DiabloMask Nov 30, 2017 1:00 AM
Hi :D how're you?
Sorry for disappearing again, to be honest I don't have much to say about most of the topics we're talking about, and lately with work I haven't had much free time every day, I guess it'd be easier for both of us to talk about things one at a time lol.
I feel bad about ignoring the topics after you spent your time writing your reply btw, so if there's something you're interested to know my thoughts about, feel free to tell me.

Anyway, I finished Cross Game :D man it's really great! I took my time with it because I didn't want it to end, there are not many shows that I felt this way about in the past!
It's impressive how every single character was likable and there's no one that annoyed me through the whole show.
Also the ending was great and it surprised me, so turned out Aoba was a tsundere the whole time? lol, what a twist (btw I'm not sure if this was even a twist or if most people saw it coming, but personally I didn't expect it at all, especially towards the end).
Seriously though, I wanted to see Kou and Aoba visiting Akane at the end, but they only mentioned that it happened off screen, that made me sad, but I guess it doesn't matter since they made their point about her, saying that she represented Wakaba trying to send Kou and Aoba a message.
I liked Azuma's relationship with Aoba, so I felt bad for him... for like a second, and then I remembered he was popular with the girls and was like "screw that, he's fine!" lol, on the other hand I feel happy for Akaishi, now he has a chance with Akane!
As for the comedy it was pretty funny and nothing felt out of place, for example the joke when it rains every time Aoba says thanks to Kou, it's pretty funny and despite its silliness it doesn't harm the realistic feeling of the show because of raining seasons in Japan.
I don't have much to say about the music, but the opening song is gonna be very nostalgic in the future! I listened to it in every episode and never skipped it, it was very nice and I'm glad they didn't change it for the whole 50 episodes.
Btw did I mention that I love the art style? I wish there are more shows with today's solid quality and classic art styles combined, that's probably the reason I want to watch Oshio to Tora and Kyoukai no Rinne.
Overall I gave Cross Game a 9/10, it's definitely one of the greatest sports, and maybe the best slice of life anime ever.
DiabloMask Sep 30, 2017 2:51 PM
Lol sorry about that, I didn't want to ignore what you sent me after you took your time to write it.

Actually yeah I have an android (Galaxy S6), but my brother uses Happy Chick on his iPhone and it works even better (some emulators don't work on my phone for some reason, but all of them work on his).
There's a problem with Happy Chick btw, and that is since I'm playing on my phone the buttons appear on the screen, since I can't feel them like on a controller it's not easy to get used to them, as a result I only play slow paced games like Yugioh and classic RPGs.

Finally someone who agrees with me on Saiki! ToT a lot of people dropped Saiki and considered Konosuba or Sakamoto the best comedy of 2016!
I always prefer creative jokes over random or exaggerated ones, Gintama has both I guess, but its problem is that it went too long that most of its jokes got old for me, and the last season I watched was mostly serious and focused on the main story, and Gintama gets corny af when it tries to be serious imo.
I only watched one episode of Osomatsu-san so I'm not sure how good it is, but in that episode it felt like they were trying too hard, it had a lot of bland and boring parodies, and felt like it was trying to rip-off Gintama's style.
Sakamoto and Konosuba are funny, but they got old too fast for me because they rely on the randomness and silliness and lack the creativity imo.

I would like to see them try to adapt the Zero Escape Series as well, I guess the one that could work the most as an anime is the first game (999), and Zero Time Dilemma would be the hardest, because its "fragments" are not organized and don't have a specific order, also they're very connected that you can't leave one of them without affecting the story.
Btw is there an anime adapted form a videogame that you liked? personally I liked God Eater and Tales of the Abyss.

I never played FFVIII, the first time I've seen the main characters was in one of the Kingdom Hearts games, I can play it on Happy Chick though :P but I'm not sure if I will.
I may have been listening to some of its soundtracks without knowing it though, I like FF soundtracks in general and sometimes listen to them randomly on youtube.
Is there a soundtrack you like in particular?
It's odd how the most popular titles of the FF universe are the ones with the least romance in them, Kingdom Hearts for example could've had some decent romance, it has disney crossovers for God's sake!

How good is White Day? do you recommend it? it's on my list of games.
Oh there's a sequel to The Evil Within? lol seems like every game I'm planning to play is getting a sequel.
Good luck on finding a better job btw, a boring job can make you lazy and affect your passion towards everything, I've been drawing my own manga for a while (not sure if I ever mentioned that), and my current job is so boring that I don't feel like doing anything when I come home, I don't even feel like watching anime let alone working on my manga! as a result I've only finished 5 pages in over two months! (I know I'm just being lazy lol).

I actually liked how they focused on other characters in season 2 of AoT, that's an issue I had with the first season (although I didn't complain because I felt like they were gonna solve it in season 2, and they kinda did).
The last couple of episodes didn't impress me though to be honest, I didn't like that crap about Eren being able to control titans! I mean he's already special, why not give someone else that power? like Christa for example.
Btw the only reason I'm saying that it was only as great as I expected is because I wasn't expecting that much in the first place, and that's because many things were spoiled to me way before the season started airing, but it was still great especially compared to other shows that were airing at that time, we don't get shows that are exciting and engaging very often nowadays.
I would've agreed with you that they should've combined season 2 and 3, but we've waited long enough for this season, spoilers are everywhere these days, even after years of waiting people never stop spoiling the manga!
Anyway I'm glad nothing was spoiled to me from season 3, surprisingly I'm not that hyped for it, but I probably will be when it starts airing.

Yeah this season was promising but then it sucked so badly!
At the beginning I was excited for Kakgurui, Fate/ Apocrypha, and Katsugeki/ Touken Ranbu, but all of them sucked.
I was planning to watch Knight's & Magic, Koi to Uso, Aho-Girl and Isekai wa Smart Phone to Tomo ni, but my friend told me they're not worth it.
I watched the first episode of Gamers and Youkoso Jitsuryoku with my friend a few days ago, Gamers was fun although I'm expecting it to get boring too soon (I hope I'm wrong), and Youoso Jitsuryoku is not bad but unless something unexpected happens it's gonna be boring af.
That leaves me with New Game, which has never been that good but is fun nontheless, and Made in Abyss, easily the best of the season.
Fate/ Apocrypha can still redeem itself, and I'm gonna continue watching Gamers and youkoso with my friend, so I'm watching only 5 shows of the season and only 1 of them may get a 8/10 rating from me.
As for shows from previous seasons, I'm also watching Little Witch Academia with my friend, and in my opinion it's tied with Boku no Hero Academia as one of the best of this year, I'm also watching Yugioh VRAINS, which despite not being that great, is the one I look forward the most every week for some reason.
I'm also back to Cross Game, I like how the show focuses on the slice of life and drama more but without leaving the sport out, it feels like they made the baseball a part of the characters' lives but without making everything revolved around it (unlike most other sports anime).
The scene where they stop a robbery was silly, but aside from that it's pretty fun.
I like how they're building up for Kou to join the baseball team, instead of making him enthusiastic about the sport, I've never seen a protagonist from a sports anime like him before, maybe the closest one is from Bamboo Blade.

So, what about next season? Is there something you're excited for?
DiabloMask Sep 11, 2017 12:51 PM
Hi :D how're you?
Sorry, I've kept you waiting for too long (in case you were waiting :P), I've had no internet connection for the last couple of months, the only reason I could survive this was because I spent my time watching anime and playing videogames with my friend (for the most part), and I have a boring job right now that's taking most of my time.

I'm assuming you've forgot about most of the topics we were talking about, but it'd be rude of me to just ignore them after you wrote all that, and I'm not good at starting a conversation, so I'll continue with the old one :P.

About my hard drive, I haven't recoveed it yet, but I haven't plugged it in ever since it was formatted, except for the time I was scanning it, so it should be fine.

I can't imagine myself watching Inuyasha these days, when I look back at some of its episodes I can tell that the directing was too bad (maybe it's just too old?), it does have beautiful soundtracks though.
I hope you enjoyed it, it's fun overall, I loved it so much back in the past.

About Liar Game, you can watch The Final Stage here if you still care lol, it's not in a good quality though:
http://www.dramagalaxy.tv/liar-game-the-final-stage

I did watch 7 episodes of Gundam AGE in the past, it has great animations and really badass mech designs, but what ruined it to me is that it's lacking the theme of war and feels more like a battle shounen.

Lol I can feel you, I never look at the duration time, sometimes I don't find out that an anime is a short until I start watching it.
Speaking of The Disastorous Life of Saiki, it's my favorite comedy of last year XD, I actually like it more than Konosuba, Gintama, Osumatsu, and Sakamoto Desu ga, not many people have watched it, I'm glad you did!

Funny thing, just a couple of weeks ago my brother told me about an app called Happy Chick, you download it for free on your phone, it gives you a huge list of all games from PS1, PSP, NDS, GBA, GBC, Sega MD, Nintendo SNES, and many other consoles, you can download any game you want and play it.
I can download FF VII and Crisis Core on my phone :P

Yeah the problem with RPGs is that they require grinding, so you usually can't play the whole game co-op, I faced this problem with Persona 5, I was palying it with my friend, of course it doesn't have multi player, so we just switch the controller every now and then, anyway, even though we loved the game so much and were excited to play it, we reached a point where my friends just want to play something else, because they got tired of grinding.
I'd like to see Zero Time Dilemma animated, but I can't think of a way for them to do that, the story can't be organized easily.
Yeah Resident Evil Origin is especially fun when you play it with your friends, and if you have a friend who's not afraid of screwing up so badly XP
I can't call myself a huge Resident Evil fan, but RE4 is one of my top 5 favorite games of all time, and I liked all of the games (except Operation Raccoon City), I do agree that RE5 and 6 were disappointing in many parts, but they were fun in general.
A RE2 remake would be great! Leon is my facorite in the franchise XD I haven't played RE7 yet, still haven't decided if I'm gonna buy the VR or not.

Wow! I don't know any of the games you mentioned, you reminded me that I'm an anime fan more than a gamer lol.
Nier Automata, along with Persona 5 and Tales of Berseria, are gonna be the first games I play when I buy the PS4, yeah I haven't bought my own console yet lol, I've been playing with my friends the whole time.
I played Uncharted with my friend, the game is cool, but it's too short :( I have Horizon Zero Dawn on my list too, I actually wanted to buy the collector's edition, but didn't know if it was worth it, now it's too expensive!
So how much did you play from the list you wrote, since summer is gonna end soon :P

About AoT2, to be honest it was great but only as great as I expected, there were a few things that bothered me a lot, like how the writer keeps introducing characters only to kill them off, I've never been against killing off characters, if anything I like the feeling of danger and despair it gives, but if in every arc all minor characters are gonna die, you no longer wonder who's gonna survive, because you already know everyone's gonna die except for the main characters, they should at least let a few of the survive.
Aside from that I was impressed by how much happened in only 12 episodes! this show never wastes time.
Ashiya-chan Jul 30, 2017 10:28 AM
is it easy for you to send me message on fb? because I cannot find your friend request ><
Ashiya-chan Jul 27, 2017 9:39 AM
Love and Lies...I guess it's Koi to Uso
yeah I'm watching it! It's really interesting!
I don't watch old anime because the art and the backround is weird and too simplistic
Can you tell me your fb name so I know who you are and accept you? I have lots of random friend requests every day
Ashiya-chan Jul 25, 2017 1:54 AM
Of course!
My fb name is Vasia Lindemann, it's easy to find me ><
I know all the anime you mentioned, but I'm watching only Touken Ranbu and thinking of watching Shoukokou no Altar.
The rom com of this season are so many and kinda boring tbh
I'll wait for your friend request! What's your fb name?
Ashiya-chan Jul 21, 2017 11:50 PM
hey there!
yes, it's been a long time indeed!
I didn't have so much free time because of the exams, but I have plenty now.
I watched Saekano and I surprisingly liked it, even if it's harem.
I'm watching a bunch of this season's anime - lots of rom coms don't you think?
About the economy, same old same.
Greeks will never change, and bond market - believe me- is not gonna make any change, because we are financially doomed anyway.
what about you? are you enjoying any good this season?
did you watch Kado? I believe it was an underrated anime! I loved it.
DiabloMask Jun 28, 2017 11:00 PM
Yeah it sucks, some shows are hard to find, so even if I had a good internet connection I can't get back all of the anime I lost.
Btw I found a program that can recover lost files, but there are 4 big problems:
The first is that it takes forever, especially since they're over 700GB worth of files.
The second problem is that it costs too much, and I can't find a crack that works.
The third problem is that I can't get the files back in the same hard drive, I have to recover them on another hard drive and then transfer them back!
The last problem is that even if I get the files back they won't be organizd inside their folders and won't be named the same, so downloading them again would be faster than trying to find out which show is each file from and which episode number it is!

I expected that Aoba has to go through some development, she seems to hate Kou right now, but I guess her feelings are gonna change eventually.
I'm looking forward to see that, I'll take my time to watch the show.

Yeah keeping up with LotGH requires too much concentration, it's the kind of show that you have to rewatch a couple of times to be able to understand everything.
I never bothered with the characters names, except for the important ones, and my biggest issue with the show is that every time I watch an episode I feel like I've missed something and have to rewatch it!
That's why I haven't finished it yet.
By Space Battleship Yamato 2199 you mean the old one or the recent one? I'm not sure if it's a sequel or a remake, I haven't actually considered watching it, maybe I would have if I finished LotGH and started checking its recommendations list, I guess that's another anime to add to my list.

Lol I'm actually interested to read your review more than watching the show, out of Rumiko's works I only watched Inuyasha 9 years ago and haven't watched the Final Act, I'm not a huge fan of it but it was pretty fun, I guess it just got a bit boring later on, fighting the same villain for over 100 episodes.

If you're planning to read Liar Game's manga you'll have to start all over, because there are too many differences that can confuse you if you skipped through it, that's why I suggest you don't read it right away, unless you don't mind repeating the same games now.
Btw the smuggling game in the manga is so long that they only adapted half of it in the first season of the drama, so in the second season they decided to make up a similar game to adapt the second half.
Wow! I never knew about Liar Game Reborn! I'm thinking about rewatching the drama now lol.
I guess The Final Stage is skippable too, but it's about a game that's not in the manga, so you should watch it if you can find it somewhere.

I'm planning to watch all Gundam shows if possible, if I ever get back the lost files I'll watch them in order from oldest to the most recent (continuing from Gundam ZZ and even rewatching the ones that I already watched), but if I give up on it and finally get a decent internet connection I'll just watch them by order of the highest priority (the gundam shows of this decade are of a higher priority than the old ones), so even Gundam Build Fighters and Gundam AGE are on my list.

I am planning to play the FF7 remake if they ever make it (not sure if they confirmed it or not), I played FF7 Dirge of Cerberus btw (the one where you play as Vincent) it was cool, and I also watched the Advent Children movie, it was great!

I have a habit of playing many games at once and taking my time to finish them, the most recent game that I finished was Devil Survivor Overclocked, and right now I'm playing Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker and Zero Time Dilemma on the 3DS.
There are also games that I'm playing with my friends, Tales of Xillia 2, Persona 5, and Resident Evil Origins Collection, we've been playing them for 2 months now, we haven't finished any of them yet lol.
What about you? what's the most recent game you finished or started?

Lol, man things are not getting better when it comes to internet connection, but I guess I'll get used to it, and yeah it was my external hard drive which I used to store anime in that was formatted.
Actually the PS4 didn't show any messages or anything endicating that it was formatting the hard drive, but after that when I plugged it into my laptop the hard drive didn't work, I looked up how to fix it and it worked, but the hard drive was empty! I don't know when it was formatted exactly.

I always thought it'd be interesting to see a dead character still having an important role in the story, the flashbacks kinda make me feel even more sad about Wakaba's death, it's amazing how they managed to make me care about her and Kou right from episode 1! As for Aoba, honestly I can't tell where they're going with her, is she supposed to be a rival or a love interest for Kou? I find her interesting though.

Yeah me too, I avoid watching premium anime on my phone but sometimes I have to, lately for example I had a problem with my laptop's screen so I ended up watching on my phone.
Also I consider shows like Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Detective Conan, and One Piece premium anime, but since they're ridiculously long I have no problem watching them on my phone.

My problem with couples getting together is that I find most relationship problems annoying in both anime and American tv shows, there are exceptions of course, but I guess it depends on the characters.
I didn't know the main couple from My Love Story start dating too soon, I even thought it'd be the kind of anime that ends without them confessing their feelings, I'm not experienced in romance anime anyway lol.
Innocent problems like that don't bother me at all, as long as the focus is on the comedy and cuteness I don't mind it, I think I'll watch My Love Story after all.
I've never heard of Maison Ikkoku before! seems like Takahashi Rumiko has more works than I expected! I'm interested to check out Ranma and Kyoukai no Rinne.

About Kokoro Connect, yeah I found it annoying that things happen randomly without an explanation, it was convenient to the plot, also the show felt too long at some point, it should've been shorter, the last arc was boring and wasn't handled well.
I do like the characters though, and the situations they go through are funny, also I liked the romance in it (although it wasn't really the focus of the series).

Yeah Liar Game's comedy is one of the reasons I think the drama deserves watching even if you read the manga, and Fukunaga's character is way better in the drama! he's awesome lol.
In the manga Yokoya wins the third round and continues his rivalry against Akiyama until the last round, in the drama they made him lose at the end of season 1 and then replaced him with Katsuragi, yeah she's a drama only character.
Personally I'm glad the writer went with Yokoya in the manga, but I also hoped he'd introduce Katsuragi at some point, especially since she's connected to Akiyama's past, sadly that never happened.

I think I'm gonna finish Berserk and then decide whether to start reading Claymore immediately or buy the box set, if I buy it I'm gonna read it from the beginning, if not I'll do as you told me, I'll watch the anime until that point and then switch to the manga.

Man I really missed out on a lot of great games in the PS1 era, I haven't even played FFVII back then.
It's strange that I never heard about Suikoden! I guess it wasn't popular where I live, to be fair though people here don't have any variety in their tastes, if one game gets very popular the rest would be completely ignored!

I'm not sure about Gundam Build Fighters, I haven't watched any of it yet, but the "sequel" turned out to be an OVA.

Hi :D how're you man? I hope you still remember me lol.
I've moved to a new house about three weeks ago, and have been living without wifi ever since, and my hard drive was accidentally formatted when I plugged it into my friend's PS4 (no idea why it happened), and a few days later my laptop's screen stopped working.
Not sure if this is a punishment for me spending most of my life watching anime, but screw that I'm back to watching anime and having conversations about it lol.

Anyway back to our topics, I've watched a couple of episodes of Cross Game, and I'm glad thay're still showing flashbacks of Wakaba, I like her.
I guess I'll rewatch these episodes though since I watched them on my phone and that felt kinda wrong lol.
I'm usually okay with watching on my phone, but only comedies like Gabriel Dropout or average shows that I want to finish quickly, I'm having high expectations of Cross Game so I need to give it a fair chance.

I see what you mean about Lovely Complex's ending, this reminds me of Special A Class, it had a satisfying ending but I still would've enjoyed more of it.
And yeah, romance anime in general usually get boring too fast, with only a few exceptions, in fact two of my friends have a habit of dropping romance anime after the main couple get into a relationship.
Btw did you watch Kokoro Connect? it's pretty good.

Actually Diamond no Ace was great at the beginning, but after like 30 episodes it got too boring that I used to literally accidentally rewatch episodes and only find out later that I already watched them.
To be fair though, one of its good sides is that it has cool character designs (unlike Baby Steps), and it has great art and music (freakin Madhouse), so I guess it's worth watching if you have time.

Lol me too, I can't count the number of times I looked at Baby Steps and Akagami no Shirayuki Hime and said "I need to get back to these soon" this year, I also did the same thing with Accel World until I forced myself to finish it and then decided I'll never force myself to watch something ever again.

Yeah I agree on Liar Game lacking the dangerous feeling, but that's because you're comparing it to Kaiji, and because of the exaggerated direction and comedy.
The manga has a more serious atmosphere and some characters are presented way better, Fukunaga for example was a bit creepy the first time he was revealed as X in the manga, and Yokuya (Akiyama's rival) won the smuggling game in the manga and kept competing against Akiyama until the end.
I hope you enjoyed it though, I mean the games are genius, I tried to look for solutions for every game but never guessed what Akiyama's plan is gonna be.

I actually was planning to rewatch Claymore and then pick up the manga from where it stopped, but I heard they changed a lot of things so I have to read it from the beginning, is that true?
I'm trying to catch up with Berserk first though.

Man that sounds a bit complicated for a PS1 game, the opening looks cool, I always feel bad when I find out about a game that I probably would've liked if I played it in the PS1 or PS2 era, it'll be great if they release it on the 3DS someday.
These days I prefer handheld consoles because I can play while watching something.

Lol I was planning to watch all Gundam series from the oldest one until the most recent one, but seems like that'll never happen.
I guess I'm just gonna get to Unicorn, Origin, and Thunderbolt before Twilight Axis starts airing.
I'm surprised btw, I heard they're making a sequel for Gundam Build Fighters, I didn't expect them to make something else.
DiabloMask May 17, 2017 7:02 AM
Interesting, I will get to the OVA someday, maybe I will re-watch some parts of the series as well, I miss it so much.

Oh I'm definitely gonna read Claymore too, I'm planning to buy the manga box if I can afford it someday, I haven't heard of Suikoden III before, what kind of game is it?

I love gambling anime too, they're always dark and intense, too bad there aren't many of them, I even read the rest of Kaiji's manga, I hope the anime gets a sequel one day, although it's highly unlikely since I heard the mangaka Fukumoto Nobuyuki cares about continuing the live action movies more than the anime.
I watched 7 episodes of Akagi too, but I put it on-hold because it was spoiled to me T.T
About Liar Game, yeah it's very similar to One Outs and Kaiji, it's about mind games that revolve around lying, and unlike One Outs the protagonist has a rival who is as smart as him, he even loses to him sometimes.
Btw I'm talking about the 2007-2010 series, the other one is the Korean version, which I haven't watched, I heard it's pretty good but it only adapted a small part of the manga.

Didn't realize you watched Baby Steps, to be honest I only watched 7 episodes of it and I still couldn't judge it, it felt like it has ptential but was still building up, and yeah I didn't like the MC's design too, I don't know what it is with anime and manga nowadays, rather than making cool MCs they try to make them as generic as possible!
But if what I heard about the series is right then it's definitely worth watching, it's funny how I had it on my "watching" list for a whole year and didn't watch a single epiosde lol.
The last thing you pointed out, oh God, I totally agree with you! did you watch Diamond no Ace? it's even worse than Baby Steps! it annoys me how there is always someone who knows exactly what happened and why it happened and has to explain it to someone else! I know it's necessary to explain things to the viewer, but sometimes it gets ridiculous! it's like the writers think it's the obvious thing to do instead of trying to come up with a creative way to explain things.

Oh! I hope you forget about the LotGH spoiler while you're watching, at least whoever spoiled it to you didn't mention when it happens, so it can still catch you off guard.

Oh! for some reason I thought Lovely Complex has a "go read the manga" ending, maybe I was mistaking it for something else! I guess I'll start watching it soon.
I believe I watched a couple of episodes of Kimi ni Todoke about seven years ago, and then I totally ignored it for some reason, I didn't even add it to my list because I didn't know if I want to drop it or put it on hold lol, I guess I'll give it another chance, someday.
I did watch the first season of The World God Only Knows, it was fun, I'm definitely gonna watch the second season, but I'm saving it for a time when I really need it (that's something I do often when there's a second season to something I like but I'm not really hyped to watch it, I save it for desperate times when I can't find something good to watch).

Btw I watched the first episode of Cross Game, and man I love it! It's sad and heartwarming at the same time, not many shows can pull off something like that! it reminds me of Major, I also love the art style.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
