Heres How I rate my Anime
10 - This is to Anime that I consider are masterpieces, almost to completely flawless with an enjoyable cast along with a great story. They are shows that leave me in a deep state of analyzing the anime in terms of story, characters etc.
9 - Nine is a bit strange, I rate my anime a 9 if its one of my personal favorites, or if its critically a nine, an example of my favorite anime is Boku no Hero Academia, my #1 but Its not the highest rated on the list since its only covering Anime Material, and its not where the manga is currently at. If its only covering the anime then it would be closer to an 8
8 - As for Eight this is an Anime that I very well enjoyed, 8's can be kind of weird though since not all 8's on my list are equal, some I put closer to a 9 and some a 7. Overall 8's are gonna be shows that im very invested in
7 - An anime that I give the Seven score to is a show that I liked obviously enjoyed for the most part, but had some issues along the way. Unlike an 8 it wasnt a show that I became deeply invested in, just a fun watch. But really, what else is there to complain about if the show was a fun watch?
6 - This score, is a score I give an anime that I did not enjoy all that much, but was still able to find some good redeeming qualities typically.
5 - I dont really like the Anime if I give it this score, I would either have dropped it or waited long enough to see if it was redeemable. But they are not for the most part which is why they receive a 5
4 & Below - Upright Appalling to watch, anything that is a 4 or under is almost the same rating, as you can tell from my list I absolutely Despise Anime that bank on Fan Service of some sort, Its a cheap way to catch the audiences attention because everything else is just absolute and utter crap. A show being popular does not stop me from liking it, idc how popular an anime is, if its good its good and if its bad then its bad. That's about it.
I Rate the BNHA Anime on it's production and the studios decisions, not on the story. I leave that all to the manga.
Even if I rate an anime higher than another, that does not mean I enjoyed it more. I don't purposefully compare my anime scores like that
I don't understand why anime critics median score is below a 6, you either have a strict score, or you just don't like Anime all that much, never made sense to me, Mine is usually around the 7 range because I enjoy anime a lot and even if I didn't like it, I learn from the mistakes and I can build that knowledge on top of my story writing skills
