I'm PB, an anime fan from the country currently stuck in the city.
I got my start watching anime with an episode of the 4kids dub of One Piece during the Baratie Arc, while it was airing on television, at a friend's house. I was fascinated, but didn't have cable or satellite at my own place, and didn't know you could watch anime online. That is, until another friend introduced me to the original DubHappy site, where I would soon regularly browse for anything that caught my eye.
I have several goals in my site activity:
- Everyone has an opinion, but opinions can be backed up more or less successfully. If we truly love the mediums of anime and manga, they need to be given the respect they deserve by treating them as having an objective level of quality. If you want to turn your brain off, maybe stick to Marvel movies.
- I strive to obtain my anime/manga legally, in spite of the plethora of issues with Crunchyroll, Funimation, et al and Western distribution in general. I don't judge the pirates, we've all done it at one time or another. If anime deserve objective debate, their creators also deserve to be paid for the quality of their work, for all that quality or availability fluctuates.
Note: Despite my pfp, I actually haven't seen an episode of Shirokuma Cafe before, its just the first anime that came up when I looked up "polar bear anime" lmao
