The folks in your profile comments take things way too personally, and I say it as someone who enjoyed Orb greatly.
Great taste, by the way ;)

Most confusing review scores ever.

I completely disagree. While the show has its flaws, dismissing it as merely "overrated" and inaccurate to history misses the point of its storytelling. The show is clearly more of a philosophical and thematic exploration of scientific progress rather than a strict historical documentary. Yes, it takes liberties, but that’s not inherently a flaw—it’s a deliberate choice to focus on the broader message of perseverance and intellectual pursuit.

Your criticism of the portrayal of geocentrism feels overly pedantic. The show doesn’t need to present every historical model with painstaking nuance, especially since geocentric thought has long been outdated. It uses the struggle between heliocentrism and geocentrism as a narrative device to highlight the resistance to progress—a theme that remains relevant in many aspects of society today. Sure, it simplifies the opposition, but that’s standard for dramatization.

As for Badeni and the exaggerated scientific advancements, this is a common storytelling technique—compressing and accelerating discoveries to fit the format. If every scientific breakthrough were depicted with total historical accuracy, the pacing would grind to a halt. The show prioritizes emotional impact and thematic resonance over rigid historical fidelity, and that’s not a bad thing.

Your alternative ending idea, while interesting, also relies on dramatization and artificial narrative twists. Complaining about the show taking liberties and then suggesting a different set of dramatic liberties feels contradictory. The fact that the show sparks these discussions at all is proof of its depth—far from being "just" a fantasy with astronomy themes, it successfully engages with history, philosophy, and scientific progress in a way that resonates with its audience.

your reviews read like the incoherent ramblings of someone who just discovered contrarianism and mistook it for personality
glazing over barely watchable badly developed shows while trashing everything else for the sake of it isnt criticism its just performative cynicism
try forming an opinion that isnt dictated by the need to feel superior

I really like Orb but I respect your review.

Though, I feel like you may change it (Or not, depending on if you still feel like the ending doesn't justify the way the story is presented.)

I wouldn't drop it, because almost everything you mentioned is addressed in a meta-narrative, and if you've dropped it I may as well spoil that the entire events haven't even taken place in Poland.

The entire inspiration for this anime was based on the historical misconceptions of heliocentrism.
