\\Note// (Indefinite hiatus/ Epic fail)
I am currently redoing my grammar in reviews to provide the most optimal experience. When will I finish? God knows.
21.10.2024: Still alive, in case you're wondering.
In my anime reviews, I usually rate art, characters, character development, music, villains, comedy, story progression, side stories, etc.
In the manga and Light Novel, I just like to talk about the series and address issues or positives with the series.
The overall score will be the average of the factors above. I'll rate by style 8.00 - 8.99 = 8 | 9.00 - 9.99 = 9 ( I will use the same style on factors)
If you disagree with the review, it's okay. Everyone has a different taste. If you want to share your opinion here on my profile, don't be vulgar. Just say what you think was wrong and how you would rate it. We are living in a democratic world, yet ;)
Everything below is little info about me, so if you want to read it for some reason, go on.
I began to watch anime around fall 2017. Before 2017, I have seen all sorts of anime before, but it was more of a larval stage. I watched some epic fight scenes or Ecchi scenes, nothing serious. The 1st anime I watched all the way was Highschool DxD. I think this was probably the best of Ecchi I could see. It sparked my interest in anime.
From that point, my " evolution" was slow. I was watching all sorts of Ecchi, but I was reluctant to other genres. In fall 2018, I finally broke shackles and went to watch something that isn't Ecchi focused. That anime was GATE: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri. I loved it.
After finishing the GATE, I decided to watch the anime Sword Art Online, mainly because it was among the most popular anime ever on MAL. I was disappointed how SAO threw it's potential out of the window and did a whole two years of content into 12 episodes.
After this disappointment, I took a small break from anime. Around February 2019 one anime caught my interest and later appeared to be my 10/10 ( in my heart), No.1 anime. It was Steins; Gate. I fell in love with S; G. This was the anime that ignited my passion ( maybe even obsession) for anime.
In fall 2019, I decided to go on the journey. I decided to watch One Piece. It went like this: I have Water 7 arc before me. Hopefully, it's going to be a good arc. Several hours later: Damn, this is the stuff. I already saw 20 episodes. Next day: Again, I watched 20 episodes. I shouldn't push myself that hard. I have school and whatnot. A few days later: Wait, time skip? It wasn't healthy. In January 2020, upon reaching episode 910, I couldn't go further and did a long break from anime. I didn't want to watch anything. I never got my passion for anime back since then. I went to watch some ecchi, DBZ movies, Attack on Titan.
My ratings described ("a truly remarkable explanation"):
1/10 - If I ever use that number, then I'll might as well probably end up in a madhouse. Because nothing can be that bad (famous last words)
2/10 - So bad, it makes me either heavily disgusted or depressed or both with the anime quality.
3/10 - Something went wrong. Dreadful
4/10 - Bad. Watching this anime is not a positive experience. I feel very irritated just by clicking on the "watch button".
5/10 - Mediocre ( I use mediocre as bad average or lazy average. Anime does its job, but it bores me or irritates me a bit)
6/10 - Average. Anime does its job. I somewhat enjoy it. It can do better in many aspects.
7/10 - It is good. I like it and enjoy it with some bumps along the way.
8/10 - Very good. Anime does very well in the majority of aspects, high-quality enjoyment
9/10 - Excellent. Almost perfect, loving the experience, and I desire a sequel.
10/10 - Masterpiece. I give it to only a few chosen categories. I doubt I'll ever give it to any anime. It is rare (it will be when I have at least 300 anime finished) for me to rate this high. Heavenly experience.

At this time, we are airing four anime programs for two consecutive hours in the late night slot, though not for three hours. As for One Piece, it used to be aired from 7:30 PM, the last of the two consecutive hours from 6 PM to 8 PM, but due to declining ratings and program reorganization, etc., it has been moved to another time slot. It does not necessarily mean that playing anime for two consecutive hours will increase viewership and the number of people who watch anime. Therefore, it does not mean that playing anime for three consecutive hours on terrestrial TV will increase the number of people who watch anime. Also, the more often people watch anime, the more likely they are to watch it on more than one channel, not continuously on one channel if they watch anime for three hours straight.
Also, the price of broadcast slots from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM is higher than that of late-night slots, so there are fewer anime broadcast during this time. One Piece and Detective Conan, which used to air in this time slot, have also withdrawn from this time slot.
And the number of TV program channels is uneven, with 12 channels in urban areas and 3 channels in rural areas where the number of channels is extremely limited. Basically, anime programs are broadcast on multiple channels, so the programs you want to watch may overlap at the same time on the same day of the week. In the countryside, there is also a pattern where the airing times and dates are changed from the city because there are not as many channels. In addition, a weekly movie is aired on Fridays at 9:00 p.m., and an anime that is about an hour and a half to two hours long is occasionally aired on the same program.
If anything, I feel that the number of anime productions is currently too much and could be reduced a little. The poor working environment for animators is also becoming a well-known story.
Therefore, as I have said many times, increasing the number of minutes, even if only a little, to 30 or 40 minutes, will only put a burden on the production site of the anime, and the shift in broadcast time will affect programs with better ratings more than other anime. As long as the broadcast slot is almost fixed, I don't think that such 30-40 minute broadcasts will be a challenge in Japan every time, except for the first or last episode, so if you are not the producer or sponsor of the anime, all I can say is give it up. If you want to watch 3 hours of anime on the same channel every day, you can pay for a satellite pay channel such as AT-X or a video streaming service rather than watching it on a terrestrial channel, so it is more outdated and crazy if you want to watch 3 hours of anime on the same channel on terrestrial broadcasting. I think it's a crazy and outdated way of thinking.
I think you should do more research on the current situation and the past if you want Japanese anime to be broadcast on TV for 3 hours straight, every day of the week, and you should do more research on the current situation and the past if you want to see anime on TV for 3 hours straight, every day of the week. I think it would be more meaningful for you to research and read that rather than commenting to me.
And, just in case, I don't know if you would understand if I put up a picture,

Really reading your comments and replying to you about your comments is exhausting, so there may be some misunderstandings, but replying to you to point that out is unnecessary. And I think it would be more meaningful if you did more research on your own about anime air times before commenting.
So, good bye this time. It's Halloween and I hope you have a great day and that you have a good one too.
Well, regardless of anime broadcasting times outside Japan, I don’t think there’s any case here where a single series would air for three hours in one day, except for a compilation of episodes before a movie premiere or a binge run after all episodes have aired. Even among anime fans, very few people would want to watch a single anime series for three hours straight in one day. I think there’s even less demand for this kind of viewing experience than you might think. And as for anime movies, only one anime film has ever actually exceeded three hours in length. Frankly, a proposal to produce a three-hour anime per day would likely be rejected by both anime production companies and their sponsors, and I personally think it should be.
So, broadcasting a single anime for three hours a day here in Japan wouldn’t be feasible, either in terms of demand or production resources. The compact, high-quality broadcast format we currently have aligns well with the Japanese viewer base and is actually part of anime’s appeal. It might be too short for you, but the 30-minute weekly broadcast slot with commercials is one way to keep viewers from getting bored while keeping up with the show.
You say you’re not sure what to expect regarding Japan’s late-night anime broadcasts… At that level, I can see now that no matter how much effort I put into explaining, you probably wouldn’t fully understand. Re-airing old TV series is nothing new; it’s something Japan has been doing since the 80s, so it’s hardly a novelty now.
Well, I think we’re at the point where neither of us will really understand each other fully, so I’ll make this my last response. It’s refreshing, though, to know that opinions like yours exist.
There are other non-Japanese people sharing their opinions in the thread you started, so I think you'll still have various perspectives to consider, even though our comment exchange has come to an end. I don’t think a crazy idea like a 3-hour daily anime would ever be made, but since it could be produced outside of Japan, I’ll say that I hope it happens for you. I’m also tired of reading your responses, so no reply is necessary. Thanks for going back and forth with me for so long.Have a nice day!
Back to the story. I don't need you to give me an analogy for the Japanese TV anime One Piece and Dragon Ball, I know where and how long the commercials run because I watched the Japanese broadcasts in real time in the past, usually every week, so I don't need you to elaborate on that. I am a Japanese who can normally watch anime in real time now and in the past.
Anime is not designed to be broadcast on TV in your country or based on your preferences, so when you say you do not approve of such an approach, all I can say is give it up. As I mentioned in my previous comment, Japanese TV broadcasts news, dramas, quiz shows, documentaries, cooking shows, sports shows, and well, many other things. As you probably know, anime is not the only thing broadcast on Japanese TV.
It is not easy to shorten or lengthen the airtime of anime, because it would affect the airtime of other non-animation programs. Also, there is a commercial once every 20 minutes in both drama and news. In addition, not all anime viewers in Japan have migrated to online video streaming services. There are a certain number of people who like to watch anime in real time, and there are also people who like to read and comment on online message boards and Twitter while watching anime in real time.
You say that the Japanese are averse to change, but things are changing with regard to anime broadcasts, you just don't know it. The number of late night broadcasts of animated films has increased, the number of 19:00 broadcasts has decreased, baseball games were not decided within the broadcast time and the broadcast time was extended, and once there was a one-week delay in the broadcast of animated films, but in recent years, this is no longer the case. In addition, the number of broadcasts in which only the first and final episodes are slightly extended has increased, and there are also cases where a compilation episode is broadcast before the release of an animated film. And this year, there was a pattern of the first anime broadcast at a time that was not the original broadcast time. Having watched anime on Japanese TV broadcasts for many years, there are certainly some aspects that have changed.
Well, I don't blame those who actually watch anime in Japan and those who don't, for not understanding or agreeing on some aspects.
I'm going to comment on your profile page about the length of your anime episodes, since it seems to be a pattern that if I comment on the thread, I will get long and annoying replies from other people.
You say that times have changed, but even with anime that is being streamed on video services, we still have Japanese anime production companies producing anime with sponsorship from TV companies and others. Also, you say that anime is a big hit in the West, but if you look closely at MAL's comments, it seems that many people are watching pirated copies or consuming content for free and have never bought any merchandise. Even if the quality is high, if there are not enough people willing to pay for it, it is just a loss for the people making the anime, and it is not a stepping stone to making new anime. Anime companies are not making anime for people who consume it for free.
Since Netflix has sponsored some anime, I think that as more and more people from overseas start to spend money on anime content, more and more anime will be made that are longer than 30 minutes in length. Well, in fact, there are now more anime than before that are longer only in the first and last episodes, so if those are well received by viewers and those who have seen them, the air time will increase.
Also, in Japan, the reason why the airing time of anime is about 20 minutes is because that seems to be the basic form, and if you make it longer than that, you have to make adjustments such as moving it back to match the airing time slot of other programs on the same TV station (news, drama, documentary programs, etc.), or having it shortened, I think it's difficult.
yeah like you predicted I am fine too ><
Take care ~
May all your wishes come true !
