Hey there :D Yeah the guild wars 2 download felt like pure torture whens its so close to finishing, hopefully you'll be able to play over the weekend haha. Seems like it'll be a nice and relaxing weekend on my side, much prefered to how the busy week has been, perhaps I can level up quite a bit before the week starts again. And you?
Law is between 1 and a half and 2 years, depending on how quickly you decide to do your bar exams. If you finish all your bar exams in 6 months, you only need to shadow for 1 and a half years. If you do them over 2 years, you have to shadow for 2 years. I know, it doesn't really make much sense.
You've got quite a varied set of things your studying. What are you planning to do with your degree?
I must have been in Grahamstown when I first came here, so ... 12, 13 years ago? I haven't got any plans to visit, unfortunately. When/if you come here you're more than welcome to pop over to swap.
This year I have 1 exam in the first week, 3 in the second, 2 in the third, and 3 in the fourth. :/ I've been preparing mostly for the 3s. The 1 and 2 shouldn't be difficult to swing.
The funniest part of all this studying is when I try to do anything else ... I can't really string any coherent thoughts together, for all the law I've been cramming. :D I've been trying to meet up with friends every now and then so I don't get cabin fever, but all I end up doing is watching or listening to everyone else 'cause my brain's so tired it can't follow. XD
I've done the group anime viewing thing a few times. It depends on the people you gather, the venue, and what you're watching. Hopefully, with all the Capetonians I've found, there'll be a few that seem like a good fit for an anime appreciation society. :)
What's IS? International studies? That's... a lot of majors. ;D
Cape Town isn't as awesome as it used to be. It's actually looking really ugly lately, with all of the random developments in completely different styles popping up all over the place. Every new project wants to look different and special... X( It's looking like a schizo playground. Also, all the gated communities... :( I've only been to Grahamstown once, years ago. What's it like nowadays? Apart from "quiet". :P
I'm studying law. Majoring in international law, and minoring in comparative law. Not quite sure what I'm going to be doing with it yet... Also haven't applied for articles anywhere, yet. I have to get to doing that next semester or, at the latest, next year. It's really freaking me out. :| Don't know why!
I have nine exams, starting from 10 May, whereas everyone else has only five. :/ I'm confident I can do it: I have simply had no life this semester. :P
Ya, I guess I am lucky; but, honestly, there seem to be so few of us that we might as well not be. I don't really LAN, so no luck there. I think I'll just arrange an anime night. Popcorn, beer, and a short-ish series. Most seem not to have watched Another yet, so it'll probably be that.
I didn't know that about America. Hobbies in general seem to have a lot of problems in SA. I have a theory as to why this is, but I don't feel like depressing myself, so I'm not going there... ;)
Did I ask you what you're studying? NYC is an awesome place to study and live.
Argh! It's quite frustrating to have found so many people willing to trade -- and a lot of them in CT, too -- but to not be able to do it for another two months. Why doesn't the world run according to my schedule?
How do you mean, "it is starting to pick up a bit"? I thought there was maybe a chance of it becoming something when we had the anime channel on DStv -- Animax, was it? -- but the shows they did air were so old that the experience of trying to watch them put me off anime until about two years ago. :P They didn't even have the good old shows, and kept airing things like Bubblegum Crisis instead. :(
Are you studying at Rhodes, or do you just live in Grahamstown? (I don't mean to make that sound as offensive as it does... I just have no other way of phrasing this question!)
Haha yeah, the uncapped is definitely worth it. Just find the one that's best to your tastes, not that we have a lot of choice though. =/
I'm really a fan of all genres, I only just don't shounen-ai/yaoi as that's just not my taste. :P Everything else I enjoy, some more than others though ofc. Not sure what I would consider my top genres, it's a hard decision.
This line they don't shape you if you use it to much unless it's something ridiculous like 600gb+ every month. However the lines are shaped from like 07:00/08:00 to late at night, I don't know the exact time they turn of the shaping but it's like near 23:00.
I normally get 200-300kb/s from 21:00/22:00 till 09:00. Running my uTorrent from 00:00 -> 08:00 everyday manages to keep my queue low. I'm sure you can check Mweb's site if you want exact times.
Herp Derp. When you said Grahamstown I was thinking of Garsfontein lol. >< I'm obviously not as awake as I thought I was. I go to Pretoria University so I'm pretty damn far away from you. :P
Hey Penguin, saw your post in the Anime Trade topic. If you don't mind me asking what university do you go to? I'm also at Uni so if we are at the same campus could make swapping anime pretty easy. Though I highly doubt you're at the same University as me, worth a try at least. ^^

I've sent a friend request. Add me. We SAn otaku have to stick together. :) Anime's a bit of a lonely hobby in Africa... :(
Are you interested in swapping anime?
The South African Anime Club is alive again and we're hoping to get some activity around here.
