*Hugs^^*
No worries^^ i don't get the being nice attitude perceived as irresponsibility its a choice its more a carefree attitude potentially evil i can't see being nice like a fault You are just describing Elfen Lied We have the good ppl humans the bad evil diclonius Humans pretending to be the righterous side Diclonius something to use for ur purpouses an excuse for ur will to kill and become evils diversity loneliss feeling You see the girl hyding her true nature and act like others humans with the fear to be discovered or to be emarginated trying to forget her past but without a really intention to obmmutilate herself more a way to live safely with others I hope u will watch it because i can't describe much without spoilers and if u are looking at good and evil side and what is good or evil in deep that s a anime u will find helpfull for ur own knowdlege and im supposing u are not afraid by bllody and gore because Elfin is U see violence nudity blood but its not a horror its a deepest anime with lots of Psychological issues
Regarding Shiki i was thinking abouth death if we can assume death like be dead inside im thinking Megumi and Natsuno but not soo sure the painfully Sunako past Seishin amletic questions and dilemma being a priest
Because i hate typing i put a thought i had My friend said Shiki no morals dilemma they have to kill soo i said my interpretation i was thinking to have watch another anime because moral conflict and frustation is soo portrayed than i can't deny them really its really a thouthfully anime
Previously what i said because my Friend deny morals dilema Shiki have to kill they have not morals dilemma My interpretation due also to Health stuff provoked me -why we live why we die we live we die why live for dying if the end is death--- If our living is to die one day our life has to have a meaning life is not a joke is serious is important we can't just live we have to celebrate it Vampirs are immortals that means noo cares i haven't human weakness im immortal i have more power im more important than human im in the right side
When Seishin said to the girl evverylife is important u can't want to die u must live i think he has a moral dilemma or a weakkness thats the reason i like him Hes kinda a priest for me how can a priest suggest u to die he is forced to say u have to live Europeans are scared by death and talk about death its a tabu soo if u talk about death eveyone has to death death is impartial for me its a relief rich or poor everyone die thats the end for us Believe u in religion in a life after death if not others cultures believe life is reincarnation and u have a new life everytime i want to believe that but im not atheist im not oriental i hope death is not the end and my soul will survive but if not i have to live with a mission and not waste my life Is this a dilemma its a dilemma moral weakness i have to choose basically i chosed to not insult my life Is that thinking right or i will change once i recovered i got money like ppl who live to have rich stuff like my cousins who thinks he is immortal im provoking and he wants the car the house soo maybe in that village Shiki village persons after murders start to think in a way they would never thought without Shiki
Other thing i was watching Monster and it totally surprised me i never seen a anime soo sofisticated never known about Kindergarden511 child experiments to create monsters and what is a monster a superior human I dOn't find resemblaces it was said its nazism in the anime but i saw a different perspective more complicated and i was really curious to know more i don't watch Shiki every weak i saw it in days and i missed the what will happen suspence u have with airing anime and the slow pace i hate the village the detaled funerals all the stuff about death is what i got more Natsuno looks like a guy who hates life ignore persons he had just Tohru who wants to be a friend and for me noo cring for others fealings its already a death inside you
Now Lycantrops Shiki Vampirs battle is not a thing i never seen True Blood its from novels is not about Hawt vampire its about humans despice vampirs and want to kill them humans see them like murderous like evil the Evil fanatism Vampirs wants to use human hate them hate is always a theme i saw ppl is scared by vampires Vampirs hates werewolves and want to kill them vampirs want to conqueror human world
the strongest will survive is it Darwin
And moral dilemma is intelligence i don't see a dilemma like a flaw U and me are different probably simply because u are male and female or simply because we have different tastses but thats human in human being everyone is different and its right then the problem could be because i saw ppl is soo desperate about Shiki death Sunako surving because they want to judge what is right we can question infinetly but how will end everyone will have a different truth a different speculation
Im exausted to type
I like when there is soo much to discuss that means the anime has a deeply meaning its not like a ecchi which i like u can enjoy but noo more soo i always said its good just for my perspective BerserK and Monster show new stuff or show stuff u know in a different way and i become curious like i want to think
The mangaka said i found out it u have reason its not a weak if its good its good but judging my tastes and thinking art real Art is to create new stuff open a new door or show a different perspective i think its my weakness because boredom is hate
Hi^^ I Saw u have a lot of stuff about Shiki I found out the mangaka said it took place from Salem S Lot by Stephen King
Am i correct if its dealing with Death and morals dilemma
because i thought a lot about death watching it not for killing issue but characters questions
If u can answer i will be delighted
And have u seen Elfen Lied
Natsuno had a lot of screen time in the first half of the show, but in the second half he was almost never there. I find it kind of hard to believe that he was shown more than Muroi. However, I suppose Muroi wasn't shown much in the first half, while in the second half he was shown a lot. Heh, the opposite of Natsuno.

I read Shiki in Japanese. I heard there are only Japanese and Chinese versions. It is really bad that there is no English translation. But anyway, I'm going to list up the major differences between the animation and the novel.
1. The animation cut most of the introduction of this novel, which includes "Mushi okuri" and villagers' life in Sotoba before the crisis. In the novel version, first book (there are 5 books for this story) was only about the story until Megumi's death (ep 1 for the animation).
2. The novel includes a lot of descriptions from Shiki's point of views. For example, a hunting scene in a pipeline from Nao's view (Shiki girl with blue hair) was really impressive and good to understand about conflict in Shiki's mind.
3. The animation cut the end part of novels, which includes some description after the crisis.
4. Natsuno wasn't revived in the original story. And Akira (Kaori's brother) also couldn't survive.
5. In the original novel, Muroi was the most important protagonist (and Ozaki next). But the animation focused on Ozaki and Natsuno more than Muroi.
6. There were thick psychological descriptions of both sides in the novel. It made us understand more about villagers side and Shiki's side.
7. Ozaki's investigation about villager's suspicious death was more mystery novel-ish way. For example, he realized this case looked similar to epidemic when he drew a graph with number of dead people and the people who moved to other cities, after Muroi's suggestion.
8. There were a lot of philosophical discussions mainly between Muroi and Sunako, but those issues were cut less than half in the animation.
9. Some characters' personalities and physical appearance were different. For instance, Ozaki was more rude, Tatsumi looked a nice country fellow but not a funky guy, and Yoshie (warwolf girl) was a old lady etc.
Though there are those differences, I think this animation reorganized very well. I just don't like only two things which are 1. character designs 2. bad arrangement about the last conversation between Muroi and Sunako.
"I think this story is quite difficult to capture. I read the original novel about 5 times and then I understood the meaning quite well, even though it explained much detail about this story."
Replying to your post in the Shiki thread. So did you read the Shiki LN in Japanese or English? If you read it in English, any chance you could link me to it? I'm interested in seeing if there are any major differences in the anime adaption, specifically the ending.
Thanks. And welcome to MAL! January 1st - Nice timing!
