Hey! So I know you're not very active on here buuuuuut just like everyone else below I also agree with your review on HnR and was utterly disappointed with the ending. I enjoyed reading it but I was at the point where she started dating Mamura and was like...okay... uhm... predicted this but was hoping her and Shishio might end up dating after she graduates or what not....and then at the same time the Manga ended and I saw all kinds of spoilers about it on Tumblr and was so devastated and mad!
And really...what was the entire point of this in the end? What was the point of the entire teacher x student drama? It had such a promising start with a great couple with chemistry and I really took a liking to them.

Anyway I really enjoyed reading your Review and hope you're well also took you up on your recommendation and started Sensei Kunshu, can't wait to see how this one plays out.

Yo just wanted to say that I loved your review on Hirunaka no Ryuusei. You took the words out of my mouth. Shishio was amazing and he was so cute together with Suzume. Why do authors do this? Why the second couple? And why is it always the majority that likes the second couple? Anyways, thanks for the teacherxstudent manga recommendation

Just read your review on Hirunaka no Ryuusei. Completely, completely, totally agree with your criticism on the series. Shishio deserved more development, and he & Suzume deserved to be together. It could have blossomed into something really amazing and meaningful -- instead, we got a cliche shoujo romance ending.

Well, at least, I can have Shishio to myself now, lmao.

Thank you for your review of Hirunaka no Ryuusei (HnR)! Definitely I feel you - I hate when stories leave out major information and plot points, plus how characters are simply "forgotten" or "used to advance the story". Like I get it, sometimes those characters are key characters but by disregarding them in later chapters, seems like those characters slowly cease to exist from having any meaning whatsoever. It is argued that focusing on way too many characters can sidetrack the story, however in the case of HnR, it seems that Shishio was a major key component to the story that seemed neglected halfway through.

While I say all that, I haven't actually read HnR, so I can't fully say that I don't like/dislike the story. However I trust your review for its sincerity and honesty as to how you reacted and felt about HnR. I want to reiterate, thank you for writing the review for HnR - I find that it does not make absolute sense (nonrealistic) when Suzume chose Mamura over Shishio - when it seems that Suzume and Shishio had much more chemistry... Well, in a way that is somewhat realistic (uncertainty of things)... anything can happen, thus Suzume+Mamura became a thing while most arrows point towards Suzume+Shishio... >:(

i see you're not active on mal but if you get back i REALLY think you should update your hnr review as some of the info about the ending is wrong :-) the extra chapter actually introduces him to a new girl (she's now his girlfriend not tsubomi) decent review tho!

Tsubaki-chou Lonely Planet right? Yeah me too, and it's good that for now, there's no definite second lead to potentially destroy the build-up of the first lead and the heroine hahaha

Your HnR review was the best. After all this time, my Shizume heart still hasn't healed.

Your HnR review was great, it really made me feel better since the majority of the fans liked the ending due to the pairing. However, despite the fact that I wanted Shizume to happen, it is really objective and right to say that the second half was poorly written, since Mazume was shoved forcibly in the plot and Shishio was thrown out for a dozen of chapters or so. It really makes me feel bad how such a promising manga messed up and wasted that potential.
Anyway, great review, I agreed with your points. And thanks for the recommendation of student x teacher, I'm definitely reading this afterwards to heal myself haha.

Mazume fans tend to congregate over to tumblr so they're easy to avoid lol. I don't really know what Yamamori was going for. She started off with a promising student/teacher relationship only to take the easy way out? Like I don't even know what the purpose behind this manga was at all. A good student & teacher relationship is hard to come by too. One reason I liked Shishio so much was because he was young for a teacher. He brought the best out of Suzume. He helped her break out of her shell and really opened her up to new things. I felt like he could have taught Suzume a lot. I just felt like this shoujo was a lot of wasted potential so it was nice to see your review.

Nice Hirunaka no Ryuusei review. It sucks that such a promising shoujo was mishandled with such bad writing. The second half was a MESS.
