Funny thing is, you kinda recommended Kurage no Shokudou to me, i saw it on your anime list and for some reason rly wanted to watch it, then told you about it.It was a really good short movie.
Bakemono no Ko seems like a solid good movie, but I want to watch Wolf children first, cause it looks really really good.Also can't wait for Mirai no Mirai to be available online that looks like an awesome movie too.

I believe the fingers on both my hands and feet can't count the number of animes that were ruined by ecchi and fanservice. It's one thing if that's the main point in the series but when it destroys the overall nice plot, then I get mad! :D And please don't make me start on yuri, probably that's the main reason I prefer shoujo-ai over it...
I've watched Aoi Hana and am reading it at the moment. Well, not quite, I'm in the middle of a break right now but that's the manga I will most certainly continue reading soon. I really like it and also, I'm a sucker for childhood friends becoming lovers later on, so... I guess that's probably because this will NEVER be my reality? ;O Yeah, there's just something about childhood friendship that really gets to me.
Perhaps this is the moment I promote a favourite shoujo-ai too? That will most certainly be Girl friends, such an amazing manga! <3 The best part is it's finished, because the waiting was killing me back when I was reading it. It's cute and heart-whelming, and is also fan service-free with sex being just the conclusion. I'm a sucker for romance and this is a big plus for me. :3

Yes, I just finished Haibane Renmei and I really enjoyed it! The only flaw was the fact that I really should have watched it a long time ago, when "my wings also had black spots". :) They are perfectly white now so the anime couldn't actually help me with my spiritual growth. What it did, was it succeeded in putting a smile on my face and yet again appreciate the people who care about me. :)

That's really impressive! Learning languages has always been hard for me. I took French for years, but I'm not fluent in it at all. 5,000 characters does seem like an insurmountable task O.O But even if you can grasp some of it, that's a great accomplishment :)

I don't know any trans people, but I was really drawn to Hourou Musuko anyway, probably because I've never seen the subject handled so well before. Cross dressing is a big part of anime, but Hourou Musuko shows the serious side of gender identity that I found heartbreaking at times.

I wonder if the mangaka is ending both stories because she wants to take a break? I just hope Hourou Musuko gets a good ending and isn't rushed!

haha yeah Chihaya x Shinobu is a popular pairing. You really have to read the Chihayafuru manga because it goes in depth with the 3 of them. The anime just doesn't do that. Arata is a much more human character who is just as insecure as Taichi. It upsets me how the anime primarily ships Chihaya and Taichi. And since a lot of people don't read the manga, they naturally support Taichi over Arata. Believe me, Arata would NOT be happy if Taichi and Chihaya got together. That would break his heart... but yeah I can't really say anymore without spoiling. The manga hasn't been fully translated. So you can read it from the beginning up to volume 8, then there's a huge break in chapters which cover the 2nd season. It picks up again on ch 89. So just be aware that the whole manga isn't available :(

About Sumire... she's actually really grown on me. She started out as a shallow airhead but she's working hard to get better in Karuta. She really supports Taichi and cares for him. I hope things go well for her :D
