I totally agree. Especially how a world so wacky and weird is protrayed as completely normal, but tbf a lot of the sex isnt used in that way. (Plus you cant let Mccandles hit once😤)
Also I havent seen any Yorgos Lanthimos films but ironically had his entire filmography in my watchlist. How would you compare this to his other films?

Also, looking through your letterboxd, I saw you liked Poor things. I loved it too, especially how well Bella's character depicts Nichze's concept of the Free spirt.
But, I dont know if this is just me, but was all the sex necessary. I get it in the first quarter when she first expirences Hedonism (every character she meets has there own philosphy if you didnt notice, Mark Ruffalos guy is Hedonistic the 2nd guy is Nihlistic and i 4get the other people) but when she starts doing it in the 2nd half, does it not feel forced?

Completly agree. There isnt anyone in the industry who does what he does. Have you read his other manga? Im reading Billy Bat currently.

I mean it's a really tragic story, If I got to compare it with some work then it would be it's pretty similar to Elfen lied about character suffering, hardship of life, tragic bitter sweet ending while also pretty opposite to Elfen lied at the same time cause Lucy is a part of species that used to get socially discriminated by the human society while she was completely innocent like it's not even Lucy's fault that she is an alien type of species with invisible hands, meanwhile the assassin children in gunslinger girl are seen as an innocent figure by the society but in actuality they are trained killer cyborgs who can take on trained adults, I think gunslinger girl is a really important manga tbh.

I would suggest u first watch the 2003 Madhouse anime, It is pretty episodic but later the show completely takes a turn for the worse then continue with the manga

And regarding Pluto, One of the reasons i loved it so much was how it gave a perfect adaption of the manga. Now I dont exactly recollect the final series of events, but I dont remember having any problems with it. There was a Teddy bear that was built up to be some genius antagonist that gets delt with rather quickly but I cant say it effected the overall expirence much.
