I always rate all anime I watched, and occasionally write anime reviews (in full essay form).
Genre love bias: military > politics > comedy > fantasy > Isekai > mystery > action > drama
Prod, love bias: OST > Directing > Creativity > Sound directing > Story+pacing+telling > Character > World Building > Animation > etc.
I score every show based/compared to others in the same genre/type/style, NOT on the overall scale of animes. I rate anime subtractively. That means I give an anime 10/10 at first, then deduct score as flaws and bad things come to light. So a 10/10 show from me means it's perfect with nothing bad (from its genre), and achieve the goal it aim to do.
Tags in my list (Prioritized):
*10CML = If an anime "change my life" (my view, etc.)
*10+ = If an anime made me Cried like a baby, Laugh so hard I can't breathe, or made my jaw dropped to the floor.
*10 = being nearly the level/not to that much degree of above conditions.
*10SB = given 10 cuz idgaf and I love it. (not necessary mean its bad before)
BEST = best in something, specified at top of note
WWF = watch with friend/family, and not in optimized setting to review
#X = Lesser X mean higher pior. to continue watching
Lastly, I only rate from 6-10, because imo any anime that got green lit to be one is probably at least a 6 (though I do rarely rate show <6 sometimes). So you could view the 6-10 rating from me as just a 1-5 scale too if you're more comfortable that way!
