Thought you were gone for good, glad to see you're well. :)
Ever been on the other side of the border?
Désolée pour ma réponse tardive, je me connecte pas souvent ces derniers temps.
Sinon, je suis tout aussi surprise d'apprendre que tu es d'Alger ! Tu vis en France je suppose ?
That's nice to know about the history of those anime. Oh, I haven't heard of these movie compilations.
I would have probably never found that post, thanks.
You say Votoms is your pic. Are you into mecha anime? Just wondering if you have an opinion on Gundam stuff.
In any case, thanks for reading and you have a cool profile pic, I like the artstyle
I was bored, and I’m a fan of this thread.
So I did a graph representing the number of interventions according to time.
Today, this topic is exactly 9 weeks of age.
The results :
Which gives us an average of 83 posts/day, 570/week. 10K is expected mid to end of march at this rate.
I'm sure more tendencies could be drawn from these graphs.
That's interesting. But I'm sure this thread will last longer than that. The first two months had like zero modding but now that there is, off topics, troll posts and spams will be deleted slowing its progression.
Besides, how did you do that?
What I can't forgive, was the pseudo-character development, the horribly inane storyline, and the ending. Miharo and Yushiro was only expounded on in the storyline through their past and Yushiro only "grew" in that he went from apathetic soldier to "comrade" in the end. Miharo was a quasi-lover sister, with seemingly the only point of her existence being having a female draw with blue hair. Yushiro's other kai sister, Misuzu, was such a horrible waste of frames that it insulted my intelligence. It didn't help she was barely set up to become a magical catalyst summoning the most disappointing ending I've ever seen in anime.
War is pointless, but not as pointless as this. The idea was the two organizations wanted to fight for world domination from the shadows, and that they believed that the Gasaraki had the power to establish their rule. In the end, they learn everything they do is meaningless because the Gasaraki are stupid immortal semi-humans who rely on manipulating others to incept their own wills.
One of the worst parts was the "IRL" footage parts where the author uses the characters voices to preach about his views on war and waste.
It wasn't "depth" that was my problem. It was the lack of following through.
What an anti-climactic horrible piece of nonsense. I was mislead by the attention to detail in combat and believed the story and characters would develop, but to no avail.
I could care less for anti-Americanism by the way. If anything, the fact the president overrided the decisions of Symbol by sharing the wheat reserves during the crisis is speaking too highly of America.
The mecha combat was well formed, using biological terms to explain things, but that soon became a trope and less of an element of combat. The panic attack from accidentally killing a civilian was "realistic", but it seemed a bit over-exaggerated? Have they never been soldier before the SSDF? Or was it the culutural Japanization of men being traumatized by killing women?
I'm glad there was more than one character being developed, but I didn't care about any of them. I'm glad there was politics, but it didn't spend much time on them and explained them away with the organizations. I'm glad there was detailed-combat, but it was more deus-ex machina with the protagonist getting his leg blown off three times. I'm glad there was philosophy, but it wasn't terribly convincing or reasonable.
I'm not, glad, however, to have watched this. I've never been so torn. I have no idea what to rate this from how much I hated it. I feel like I was psychologically violated after that ending. I'm leaving the score blank because I can't quantify my feelings with how much I'd tell people to avoid this anime with a number.
