This list is based purely on my enjoyment of the series and how much of a lasting imprint it has left on my life. Its not a "Top 10 best anime list" but rather "Top 10 favorite anime".

Also this is how my ratings work:

1:To put it clearly these are anime that force me to rethink the very choices i've made in my life. The hours i have in each year and why i just spent some of them on garbage, these shows are worse than scum and have no redeeming qualities in my eyes.

2:The only difference between this and a 1 is that i found the premise of the anime at the very least to be worth my time.

3: This rating is for anime that are poorly made and boring to watch, these show failed to peak my interest and became a drag.

4: These are bad anime that i disliked, they may have been interesting on some level but the flaws were far outweighed any positives.

5: This the very middle rating for me, this is an anime i probably would never watch again and overall i disliked. However the anime had enough good moments for me to have rather comfortably reached the finish line.

6: On the whole i enjoyed this anime but there was something very important that i disliked about the anime. Most likely this is the MC but it could also be a reoccurring joke, episode count, music, plot lines or anything else. The show just had a very large flaw.

7: This is an anime i genuinely liked, the flaws that exist in this anime are smaller ones that can mostly be ignored, they barely hindered my enjoyment of the show.

8: This is an anime that i loved while watching it but after review found enough nitpicks to rip some joy out of the show for myself.

9: This an anime that has become one of my bedrocks for my continued love of the medium, it's anime like these that really touch me and infect my daily living. These are anime i follow, with characters i care about and stories i want to see continued. Still there was an element missing, the anime has an unavoidable issue that sticks at the back of my head and despite how moving the anime was for me i can't ignore it.

10: This anime is a masterpiece, a truly life changing event of an anime for. This anime has been a source of tears, joy and laughter despite many re watches. These anime are not just anime to me, watching them felt like an era in my life that didn't just shift my real life behavior but my real life character and goals.
