University? That's awesome, speaking of it, I should also start thinking about my MSc application. I can choose between the badass but hard and painful way, or the less cool but easier way, but then I'll have to keep travelling a lot as I did in the past 2.5 years. Yes, I could just go home less often but I don't want to (partly because of my idiotic room mates I got in the past semesters). And this way I don't really have a place to call home and I got tired of this feeling.
The thing you should know about Hyouka is that it's slow paced, and not the usual kind of mystery. Most mysteries are suspenseful but this is relaxed.
Maybe Gintama is that good as they say but it's definitely too long for me. I'm not even sure if I'll be able to finish Yuu Yuu Hakusho with its 112 episodes (I feel too old for its old-school shonen style), let alone something with so many seasons.
The main rec was Vanitas no Carte. It's a vampire show but not the usual kind. To be honest, it's not for me, I'll probably drop it. The second one was Dororo, and the third one was Odd Taxi. I haven't looked at it yet but I stumbled upon it in the past browsing anime recommendation lists. Maybe I'll give it a try in the future, but as the name says, it looks odd and I'm a little skeptical about alternative art styles because they usually foreshadow the style of the storytelling, which I'm not a fan of.
Also, that Maomao pfp is cute! <3 Keep going with Kusuriya!
Hey! Thanks for being my secret santa! I find it pretty funny that you sent me a friend request lol. I had no idea you were actually my secret santa… Anyways, I really liked the recommendations you gave me. I only had time to watch 3 episodes of Haruhi Suzumiya though. Those 3 episodes were very funny and entertaining, and I can’t wait to see what happens next. It has the exact type of humor that I would like, and it’s pretty funny. Unfortunately, I watched it in chronological order, instead of broadcast order like you suggested. I didn’t even realize I watching it in chronological order until yesterday :( But, I heard that watching it in that order is recommended if you are watching the second season and the movie, which I plan on doing. We’ll see how it goes.
As for Apothecary Diaries and March comes in like a lion, I haven’t had time to watch them but I actually did consider watching them in the past but never got to it. And I actually read the first 8 chapters of the Apothecary Diaries manga, so I already know what happens in the first 2~3 episodes. I’m pretty sure recommending an anime from someone’s manga list is against the secret santa rules, but I don’t really care since I already planned on watching it :)
Once again, thank you for being my secret santa. I hope you have a great new year!
Fate series? from my very own personal opinion...it is not very worth it~ the series are long and aren't that good GOOD. there are few more shows worthy to indulge than Fate Series. just my own opinion here but you're free to try to watch who know you may really love it, for me it just meh .
Also, you already have several legendary and epic anime list into your completed list- Fate series are indeed graphically beautifully drawn but their impacts, storylines and dialogues are nowhere near of lists those you've rated as 7-10 for a pretty long ass show.
WOW CONGRATs your enrollment for university<3 <3 <3 ! I hope you're focus and dedicated for your education...if you think you're about to give up and can't carry your current subject , just change it...don't forget, Trade school is dope too! you can go there they teach you real life skill you can get real job they can pay you really well often times...take the welding class, mechanic, electrical, whatnot get dusty get greasy.
I haven't watched too much anime lately, but from those I started recently, I have been thoroughly enjoying Hyouka so far. I have mixed feelings about Kyoani, but this was a positive surprise. Maybe it'll be something from them I can give a high rating without side notes, who knows.
Also, I got three recommendations from my MAL Secret Santa, so far I have checked two, and Dororo is very good. Gore is not my genre but I can overlook it and concentrate on the positives.
Also, sorry for the late replies, I get a lot of comments lately and I wanted to take a break.
Oooh Tutturuuuuuu ~ Stein:Gate is a proper anime, have it a go! Apothecary Diaries I didn't watch it yet but I guess it is good since my wife love it...
Fate series huh??? I know the anime and I'm not a fan (I've tried but not hooked) but I cant say much either cuz probably you'll like it... but since I know the anime is little messy and tricky I hope you read this net bulletin first before you hit the FATE series , if you not who knows you may get sketchy for the show ~ you at least better take a look FATE Series is A MESS if you don't research...they got timelines , alternate things and whatnots in there.
lately? The typical seasonal anime! Without surprises!
Steins;Gate saga, could surprise you for the thematic and the principal men!
Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu is a great anime, A war treaty with 2 great characters and a great ending.
Haikyuu saga, if you like the sports, volleyball.
Major saga, if you like baseball!
Kimetsu no Yaiba, You have to see it no matter what, and the final movies will be released next year, so start with the series that don't disappoint.
Great Teacher Onizuka if you want a comical anime!
It my principals recommendations for you!!
You have a great day Oishii!
;)
For very recently , I enjoyed anime the most is The New Gate , eah just another video game based adventure-ish MMORPG/iisekai type ~
It is not that deep storyline or anything for they are kinda straightforward , it's kinda bland but bland in a good way...
Just another copied anime story of video game where the game YADA YADA YADA ,BUGS, GOT RESET EVERYTHING , GLITCH , Die in video game die in real world type
but somehow I like their concept where game NPC became independent they are freely roaming around make their daily lives.
Try detroit metal city ,comedy, 10minute/Episode short anime couldnt hurt your time if my recommend suckass , One of each own but I hope you'll like it
I hope you finish Nausicaä, it's a beautiful and moving story. But in my experience it's better to watch alone so you don't have to hide your feelings (based on my experience, but maybe you and the people around you are completely different).
I admit I didn't go deep into Asuka and Rei, I analyzed Shinji and his father more. I'll pay more attention to them in the Rebuild movies. But I agree with you that they are total opposites and it makes for an interesting comparison.
I just noticed you have Maomao in your favorites! I love her so much. Such a colorful character with so many sides. And her duo with Jinshi is brilliant. I loved their chemistry (and little misunderstandings, hehe).
It was nice to chat with you too, especially about Evangelion! ^_^ And I'm curious to hear your thoughts on Nausicaä once you get to it.
You're new about these anime thing, but I approved your Anime taste and your rating , you doing great job !
My little advice, watch anime at your own pace your own timing your own enjoyable environment ~ also do not get washed so much in En Masses trendy and virality of a show , take your time to pick your anime show to watch...
I see you watched NGE! And looking at your profile I see you definitely liked it, haha. I'm trying to watch the Rebuild movies but when I have the time for a film I always do something else. I watched the first one though and it was worth it, they made small changes that felt nice, they added new scenes that clarified several moments for me.
As I mentioned last year, here is my question: what did you think of the lift scene? :D From my perspective Rei's head was completely empty while Asuka almost exploded inside

Plain dumb anime, don't take it serious~
