Ahhh.... The problem is that I might not like the pacing of the first one...but I'll try, if I don't like it... I'll drop it and proceed to watching Brotherhood.

I haven't watched FMA: Brotherhood yet, but I'll get to it soon... then I'll have my own answer on who really is the best shounen around.

Also, most of the critically acclaimed shows are long(I don't know why)... I'm still in the middle of LotGH and the ARia series...lol(But, I watch critically acclaimed one cour shows as a means to take a breather from those two, so all is well)...

If you want to watch more josei, I'll definitely recommend Chihayafuru... (every one saya, Ping Pong the ANimation is the best sports anime out there but I think this anime holds that title...)

Well I think of Rakugo and HxH(2011) as the benchmark anime. Surpassing this two anime in my favorites means that an anime is perfect...

Tatami Galaxy is one hell of a show. It's one of those shows that has a great pay off if you stick with it... Those last 2 eps. Damn.

Yeah, I like drinking myself so at the least it could appeal to me on that front lol. Definitely not recommended for those who don't because at that point there really is nothing in it for them to enjoy.

Mm, it was entertaining enough but I'm glad it was only 11 episodes. It would have been a bit of a chore if it were to be any longer. When the sad backstories served only as a method of conveying facts and trivia, it would get a little overbearing if I had to watch any more of them lol.

Now I've thought on it, I suppose this is nothing more than glorified trivia about a certain selection of drinks. All I'm gonna take from this is a few tidbits of information I've learned. There's not really any mottos, themes or outlooks on life that it preaches about. It all boils down to alcoholic facts, and the notion that a drink can solve all your life's problems.

I think I'm gonna give it a 5/10, overall.

I do find it quite interesting and entertaining; the episodes seem to go by quite quickly. But it's kinda...odd. Art and animation wise, there's nothing special at all about it. I've noticed the same animations used multiple times too, such as when the Bartender uses a shaker.
The use of other characters serving as narrators is quite strange, too. They exist as characters in the anime but serve as a narrator, which is quite a strange juxtaposition. They know things that as characters they shouldn't.

The stories and issues each episode deals with are okay, but they really try to force a connection with the alcoholic drinks. It tries really, really hard to have drinks act as symbols for life experiences, which I find to be strange. It's quite novel but at the same time it's not necessarily good. A drink will apparently represent loneliness, and so the episode will focus on loneliness. A drink will represent love, so they have an episode focused on love, etc.
It's interesting but also quite convenient; there just so happens to be some perfect drink for every problem in life. In a sense, it's quite contrived. The stories fit the drinks every single time.

I'm not sure how else to properly convey my thoughts though. I've struggled to place my likes and dislikes with this one. I don't really know how to say it lol. I've not really seen anything similar to this.

It's been entertaining but yeah, I can't exactly say this was a masterpiece or anything.
