I try to not change ratings over time. If I felt like giving a 10, the 10 stays. For me, the rating represents the feeling at that moment of rating, and not the feeling I have about the anime nowadays. Also, my 10's are not comparable between each other. I only give a full score if the anime did everything right in my opinion, according to its genre. That means something with a deep story ends up having no unjustified events, no boring parts and intrigues correctly, whereas for comedy shows I expect them to be funny, etc. You simply can't compare every anime with your favourite anime, but if you do you end up rating like those "Mean Score: 3.5"-masochists here on MAL.

A full rating just signifies that the anime fulfilled all its promises and turned out to be entertaining and/or special. I balance the score between rating subjectively and objectively. That's why 10's are not necessarily my favorites.
