The story of the manga/anime is so good that i want the anime quality to be the best too! The pacing is abit too fast i would say, that is a part i didnt like of the anime. I got really hyped for the fight with Faust, because the first anime couldnt fully animate it but it turned out this anime wasnt that different from the first anime and couldnt fully animate it too. I was dissapointed at first but i can understand now because the manga had really gore scenes in that fight. After the first few episodes i got abit scared they would skip too much because iirc they skipped the second and third chapter but it turned out they didnt skip too much so im glad in that aspect. I like the character designs, they are very cute and cool! The animation quality overall is good too. The director thats working for this project is one i praised way before. I was really happy to see him be the one working on Shaman King new anime. I wish they would make it a 2-core anime, releasing 25 episodes every year for 3 years. Hope i used the term right there. They would have more time working on Shaman King this way and 288 chapters in 75 episodes would have been my preferable pacing.
I first watched Shaman King on tv. My brother and i loved it. As a kid we would pretend to be the Shaman King characters and play the scenes we liked from the anime. We even uploaded the JP and EN opening on a CD and whenever we would go on a long trip we would play it in the car and listen to it over and over. When the new anime played the JP opening of the first anime in i think it was the 3rd episode it was really nostalgic to me. The TV didnt release all episodes so my brother started from episode 1 and watched all episodes from the internet. He later told me that they didnt fully animate the whole story. So hearing about this new anime was great news for me and my brother. I really love Shaman King too! Its one of my favourite animes! My favourite arc is the Osorezan arc! I was watching the new episodes weekly till now but had to take a break because of exams. I havent read the manga fully too. Im really curious about how this story is going to escalate. Last 5 episodes left for me, i will watch them soon!
I really love Shaman King. Wish they had a better adaptation but this anime adaptation gave me the chance to read the manga chapters. I read every adapted chapter after watching the episode
I haven't read it yet since I saw that it's still ongoing but I wanted to read it since forever. I was actually asking since I wanted to hear you thoughts on it. But I've read one of Kyugou's other works, Sora wo Daite Oyasumi, it's really beautiful and it's only 7 chapters, I think you should give it a try if you haven't :D
Nice review on Cats on the Louvre! I'll check it out and when I finish it I hope we can discuss together. In fact I'll probably check out the bl stuff on your manga list, I've been meaning to find an actual good bl series but haven't unfortunately. Yoneda Kou is great though, I liked her Doushitemo Furetakunai, it was my first BL manga that incentivized me to read more BL works. I explored the genre and found that I didn't like stuff like Ten Count tho.
