I've actually only played Abyss. It was a great game though. Might try out Symphonia some day if I find the time

Hard to say if Ufotable will ever remake the Fate route. Tbh though I'm more interested in seeing Tsukihime get properly adapted.

I've honestly gotten more of an appreciation for Kiritsugu over the years. If you're interested, the biggest thing that sold me on him was this really great character analysis. It's fairly long, but it gave me a whole new view on his character and how F/Z complements F/SN.

Yeah, though if I were to pick a favorite it'd be HF Shirou. Generally though the anime really watered him down by cutting out his monologues. In the VN he's a much more complex character and you really see how severe his survivor's guilt is. He feels it's wrong that he survived the fire when others didn't, so he believes he needs to justify his existence by living for the sake of others. That kind of desperate obsession with redeeming himself ends up ruining his life in Archer's timeline.

One of the reasons he's my favorite fictional character is the different ways he overcomes his mental illness. In Fate and UBW (through his interactions with Saber and Archer respectively), he ultimately accepts that his dream is impossible and will never save him, but decides to pursue it anyway because he finds it truly beautiful. As a result, he'll never become Archer because he's no longer chasing a vague destination of "saving everyone", but instead adhering to it as a general way of life. In HF, he instead realizes he can't prioritize his ideal over Sakura's survival, so he decides to become a hero for her specifically.

As for why HF Shirou's my favorite, it's largely because he's the most badass. The guy took down Berserker by slicing him faster than the speed of sound, and then defeated his former Servant in a 1v1, all while his body and mind were breaking down. His parallels with Kirei and their fist fight were also just great.

What..... are you talking about? I have sidelined anime as a whole for quite sometime. And which S5 are you talking about? Date a Live? Then I have dropped it in the middle cause I was not enjoying anime as a medium, so I thought of continuing it when I do enjoy anime as a medium.

Because I watch it with my friend. And I have a special system how I choose where I put some anime.

If you see a show like that, it means I didn't drop it because it was trash. Usually it's because a show lacks suspense and I sort of don't come back to it because there isn't really something that I have to see. I hope that makes sense. It just feels unfair to rate them 1 just because I didn't finish them so I just make a judgement based on what I saw so far. I don't remember what I rated that way but some shows come to mind like Mushishi, Wolf and Spice, Dragon Ball where I had a pretty enjoyable time but I didn't continue for some reason or another.

The fact that she makes kids seethe is probably my favorite thing about her
