The stats you find on unreliable, fake websites like GOOGLE are not actual stats lmao The actual stats include total sales, and, the original point was never about "sales". It was about POPULARITY lol MANY MORE PEOPLE have seen series than are "officially tracked". 9% of Japan saw Gundam. 1/10th of the entire nation was personally watching the series. Households, FYI, and that was in the 80s when families used to sit down and watch TV together. So 10% of households would watch Gundam, which dwarfs any viewership of the series you know now. Your series are irrelevant and not popular in Japan. Get a grip.

Devilman was part of Japanese POLITICS lmao There were actual political laws made about the series. Its sales, viewership, and popularity ALL DWARF ONE PIECE. The PER VOLUME SALES of Devilman are 10million PER VOLUME. Twice that of One Piece. And, as you ADMITTED that was when volumes were not sold, and manga was sold individually. So add in individual sales, and the overall eyes and people who read/watched the series, and it crushes every single series you enjoy.

And who cares about modern stats you can google? Glad you accept you have no point, and I'm correct, and the total number of readers and therefore "physical copies sold and read by people" is not counted in some "modern" stat you pull off wiki. One Piece hardly touches Kochikame let along a host of other series like Blackjack, which 20-30% of the population of Japan read. No where near that number have read One Piece, or many of the modern mangas you know.

You proved im right. We are comparing old vs new manga like One Piece. Most 80s and 90s manga were read, and sold, in magazine format. The vast majority of readers were exposed in that fornat and not through volumes. You lose.

I will miss the weekly hype but I don't think AOT really needs it to be heavily discussed. The 1 hour format is perfect for this final stretch, extremely excited to see it all go down in fall.

Going back to 1946, manga have been sold in chapters, as evidenced by the Great Tezuka himself. You can find other examples of this in the modern era if you want, but if you weren't such a smooth brain you would KNOW them.

Honestly, the only reason I came back to MAL was to add the new Attack on Titan special to my list, since it would feel wrong to me to not have completed the entire franchise on my list here. I'm still mainly on Anilist. I don't really have a way to properly update my list on here anymore. The rating metrics on AniList are different, there'd be no way for me to accurately convert them here. Plus, I'm too lazy to update my list anyways. Although I will be hanging around the forums here.
